There's no way for Carl to make the "right" move here.

The NFL should allow practice squad players to remain with a team. New rules should be considered.
Something along the lines of the team gets a first refusal. Basically, a notification that said player is being considered, please make a roster move or lose the player. That allows a team the option of keeping the player or not. If the team allows the player to walk, they could get a 6th or 7th rounder compensatory pick. Just a thought.

Whitlock should have SLAMMED the entire organization for the Ryan Lilja AND the Samkon Gado affairs for weeks on end. Freakin' Dick Vermeil is such an offensive "genius" that not only does he allow Lilja & Gado to get away, he actually CUTS them, hoping to re-sign them later.

Out of all the ridiculous decisions that DV made during his tenure in KC, those two are absolutely unforgiveable. And they've set the organization back.

Which offensive lineman did he develop? Which running backs? Who did Vermeil develop, period? Besides the $15 million in his bank account.

He's a Dick.

Dipshit. Ever hear of Brian Waters or John Tait? Casey Wiegmann was a career backup when he came here. The Lilja thing sucks, but you can't expect the Chiefs to get it right 100% of the time. Eddie Kennison was a career nothing before he came here and got taken up off the scrap heap. There's also nothing that guarantees that Lilja is going to be better than Black or Wellbourne at Guard.

Furthermore, if you are going to take the Chiefs to task for poor personnel decisions, it starts with two moves: 1) Drafting Sims over Henderson, and 2) Trading Down to take Siavii instead of Olshansky.

My $0.02.... The NFL needs increase roster size to at least 60, and have no restrictions on how many to dress out.

I'm a dipshit? Alright, Jackass. So you'd advocate keeping Ryan Lilja over Jeremy Parquet? How about over Allan Reese? Montique Sharp? Lyle West? Donald Willis?

Vermeil was supposed to be some sort of genius, but he couldn't see talent right before his eyes. So you're gonna "guarantee" that Darius Johnson and Fred Jones were more deserving of a roster spot than Ryan Lilja?

You're a freakin' moron.

Oh and by the way, douche nozzle, Olhansky was taken BEFORE Siavii. So please explain to me how the Chiefs "missed out".

Moron.

You dumb c*nt.

The Chiefs traded down from the 1st to the 2nd that year. With the Chiefs pick, the Lions took Kevin Jones late in the first. By the time the Chiefs drafted early in the 2nd the Chargers had already spent their pick #1 overall in the 2nd round, on Olshanksy.

I think your head may be rammed so far and so perfectly up your ass that it has created the only perfect vacuum on planet earth.

So, you're making the point that if the Chiefs didn't trade down and the Chargers didn't trade down, the Chiefs somehow could have had Ohlanksy?

Go back to school, dumbass. I feel sorry for your students.

Every team is going to have one or two players that they let go that end up making it somewhere else. That's just how it works.

Waters--Undrafted, cut in Dallas as a TE/FB
Wiegmann--Backup Center we took from the Bears, IIRC

Look at Vonnie Holiday---decent in GB, worthless here, good in Miami. Is that Vermeil's fault? No...it's Holiday's. You can't hit 1.000 as a talent evaluator. Hell, the Patriots have had their fair share of fuckups...like trading a 5th rounder to the Raiders for nothing, drafting guys like PK Sam, picking up Mike Cloud, Monty Beisel, Eric Warfield...and they have 3 rings this decade.

Your opinion is completely uninformed, you worthless, mouth breathing sack of monkey shit.

So your point is that while the Chiefs made a major mistake with Lilja and Gado, "THAT'S OKAAAAAYYY". EVERYBODY makes mistakes. Oh, poor, silly Chiefs!

You're a freakin' joke. Go back to hitting on 18 year-olds in the common. But I guess that's not working either because you're on the internet at 2am.

LOSER.

Per Wiki:

30 Detroit Lions (from Kansas City) Kevin Jones Running back Virginia Tech
31 San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina) Rashaun Woods Wide receiver Oklahoma State
32 New England Patriots Benjamin Watson Tight end Georgia

[edit] Round two

Pick # NFL Team Player Position College
33 Arizona Cardinals Karlos Dansby Linebacker Auburn
34 New York Giants Chris Snee Offensive Tackle Boston College
35 San Diego Chargers Igor Olshansky Defensive Tackle Oregon
36 Kansas City Chiefs (from Detroit) Junior Siavii Defensive Tackle Oregon

Who in the blue fuck did you think we were going to draft had we just stood pat? The answer is Olshansky...we thought we could get him at 36, but Smith beat Carl to the punch, much the same way that I'm beaitng you, or that your mailman pounds your wife's roast beef curtains.
