I'm as die hard a KU fan as you'll find, but I'm with William on this one. Julian Wright is awful this year. Sans the Florida game, he hasn't done anything except turn the ball over an hesitate inside the arc.

He can't shoot. Anyone who says that he can is kidding themselves. He really can't pass consistently. Sure, he has a few highlight passes, but his turnovers lend to the fact that he simply is a poor passer. He can dribble; but, really, when is the last time you wanted your 6'6" forward dribbling inside against a couple of guards? He turns it over every single time.

If he'd just play within himself, he's be a solid player. But this preseason B12 POY crap has him trying waaaaaaaaaaay too hard.

When he's on, he's great. But he hasn't been "on" since the Florida game. Maybe he'll flip some sort of switch come the end of the year. Or maybe I'm just holding my breath.

Props for looking at Wright with something other than team-colored glasses.

Wright is at his best when he plays like a true power forward (rebounding, posting up, etc) but his thin frame, and the fact that's been told he's great because he's a "point forward" his entire career keep him from doing that, I think.

Hey, I'll trade you Kalen Grimes for him. Then you wouldn't have to worry about him throwing passes away... because Grimes NEVER passes the ball.

I Julian as a player, and he is a great kid as well. However, his shot outside of 6 feet just is not good. Almost zero ball rotation. Oddly, he is a fairly decent free throw shooter, with decent form.

He is a huge "tweener", and his NBA prospects will be interesting to follow, as there is no way he can play 3 with his outside shot. As a 4, at 6'8", he will be undersized. Obviously tons of athleticsim, but like Walker from KSU, it will be interesting to follow their careers, as neither can shoot, and at their ages, they won't wake up and just figure it out some day.
