Delivered Pizza's while in college. Hated Stiffers but learned to deal with it. The rich people usually make up for it. Made a lot of money while delivering.

I usually tip two dollars for pizza and 10-25% in resteraunts depending on service.

I do have one complaint. I now see tip jars in places like starbucks. IMO someone getting me a cup of coffee doesn't need a tip. I even saw a tip jar at a Burger King drive through once. Threw my gum wrapper in that one.

I agree. I won't tip them.

I usually tip a buck or so at places where I get my own food - cafe's and buffets.

Servers 15% - 20%, maybe a little more unless the service is poor in which case I might tip 10% or so.

Haircut $2
Taxi driver $2 or 10% whichever is greater
Hotel maid $2 per night if I stay more than one night.
Pizza guy $2-3

i ususally don't tip because with gas prices so high I can barely put food on the table for my family let alone the servers.

Drank for free in college most of the time due to knowing my bartenders. I usually tipped 75% of my estimated tab back then, unless I was broke, then sometimes I'd tip "normal."

Now I usually tip at least 20%, but I'll occasionally drop below if the service really sucks.

...yet you're eating out instead of cooking at home...

Demonpenz 02-03-2007 02:11 PM

well being poor doesn't mean I can't treat my wife and I a night out.

Maybe it should if you can't do it without hosing someone else.

That's because you don't have to tip at McDonald's.
