What if the Chiefs drafted Chris Long this year, then used that extra 1st, 2nd and 3rd to draft:

A franchise left tackle
A complementary starting wide receiver
A stud offensive guard

Sure, it's optimistic...but it could happen! Jared Allen could be our Jesus Christ! His sacrifice could forgive the sins of Carl's past 19 years!

That would cast Carl Peterson in the role of St. Peter. While many on here would love to see CP crucified upside down, I don't think anyone want him to be the rock upon which New Arrowhead is built.

I don't want to trade him, but if we have to (DIE CARL :# ) this is acceptable compensation. A 2nd is still a 2nd next year.

Dolphins | Team interested in Allen?
Mon, 21 Apr 2008 14:33:01 -0700

GOATSE, of Chiefsplanet, reports the Miami Dolphins are in the mix for the services of Kansas City Chiefs DL Jared Allen. The Dolphins could potentially package DE Jason Taylor and their first round pick of the 2008 NFL draft for Allen. This would allow the Chiefs to select OT Jake Long with the first pick.

This is sounding pretty good. Those are valuable picks for a team rebuilding.

Newsflash dumbass...all this Allen news today is coming from Nick.

God I really hope Trevor Laws busts.

If he turns out to be good findthedr will come back and we'll never hear the end of it.

It's a tough call. Allen is a premier talent just coming into his prime. A first and third this year and a second next year could turn out to be undercompensation because I believe he has the potential to be better than Jason Taylor.

On the other hand, Allen doesn't want to play for us. AND, I think Herm's talent evaluation is far superior to the Vermeil era's. If we can pick up a first, second, and third; I'd say that's acceptable compensation.

However, I really believe that fair compensation would be two firsts OR a first and second this year and a second next year. The bottom line is that Allen is a stud in his prime with questionable character. We're rebuildining our team and three first day picks is the asking price for an All-Pro just entering into his prime, IMO.

A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is a good deal IMO.

If Allen didn't have any personal problems I can see a team giving up the 2 first round picks, but with the possibility that they have to trust this guy stays clean we are still making out well in this deal. In fact I'm shocked that they are offering the 2nd in 09.

Mecca 04-21-2008 02:29 PM

In my view the most the Chiefs will get is a 1 and a 3 this year and a 2 next or a 1 and their 2 3's this year.
