Just forget the steak..you can get a good steak anywhere. You are coming to the Midwest, man. KC is known for its BBQ. Go to Arthur Bryant's on Brooklyn St. and call it a done deal. DO NOT GO TO THE ONE AT THE LEGENDS.

Twice as good and 1/2 the price of Herford House. |
Ruth's Chris may be a chain but it's some of the best food in the city. It's pricey (at least $40-50/person) but really, really good.
For atmosphere and food, you can't beat the Majestic. |

1) Gates. You got the best sauce, you get the crown. 2) LC's. The best "hidden spot" in the BBQ Universe. 3) Bryants. I'm not a fan of that sauce, but I can not deny that when you place an order to go; you get every pennies worth and then some. And as someone already pointed out; GO TO 18TH AND BROOKLYN. 4) Fiorella's. I'm not real hip on the super-dark, ultra-sweet molasses-trip, but Jack's meats( sans sauce )are some of the best-prepared you'll ever eat. |
