We're also not just talking about someone leaving to a rival team...We're talking about someone who led his players in blatant cheating on the field, and trashed Chiefs fans in defending his players bad behavior on several occasions.

Uh, then you're completely unaware of history between rival cities for the past 100 years.

I don't EVER remember the Chiefs trading a Babe Ruth type player to Denver, or vice versa.

I don't ever remember the Broncos trading a HOF player like Curtis Martin to Kansas City.

I don't ever remember Gunther Cunningham going to Denver after spurning KC and leading them to FOUR Super Bowls.

Do YOU?

Mike Shanahan the GM/Personnel guy doomed Mike Shanahan the head coach in Denver.

With the Chiefs, Shanahan could return to focusing on his strength which is coaching and developing QB's (Brian Griese, Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler were all Pro Bowl caliber QBs at one time or another under Shanahan, post-Elway).

THIS. ONe thing for certain, Raider week will be back and Bronco week will become even more intense that it already is. Maybe the Broncos will get stuck with a coach that looks at rivalries like Herm does.

Clark said he wanted new blood. This hiring would draw blood.

Also, just think how many instant MNF games we'd be on just so the network could talk about the story line. Chiefs/Broncos game would be an annual MNF event!

I voted yes ... but would like a fresh young coach to grow up with Pioli. I can live with Shanny and fully support Pioli, coz I will think he has thought through the process and made the best decision he could make.

It's not like the question of how I'll feel when he announces he is keeping Herm ... my opinion will go way down on his ability as Head of Football operations.

I think it's absolutely hilarious that anyone would change their opinion on Pioli based on his very first personnel move.

Some of you are such emotional little girls.

It would be weird in the beginning, but I could probably get used to Shanahan. However, I think it's easier to imagine him in Dallas compared to here.

HemiEd 01-22-2009 11:02 AM

I can not think of a better game day coach, a guy that can steal a win, when defeat is deserved.

If he is not making the personel decisions, it has to be good.

boogblaster 01-22-2009 11:05 AM

Not so much here ... Fuk Ratty ...

BigChiefFan 01-22-2009 11:08 AM

I just didn't want him as the GM and coach. As head coach, I'd be happy with the move.
