Yep.

I thought it was on lock down, however? Loosened up a bit?

I think he's thinking that since everyone in town is already speculating Smith is the pick, it doesn't hurt him to say anything to me.

And like I was saying, he also has the benefit of time on his side. A lot can happen in 7 weeks.

Cool.

I'd be interested to know what it is about Smith that has become so intriguing. Not saying he's not a high-quality prospect. Just saying...

You talk about moving albert because you want teams behind you to believe you're serious about taking a tackle at 3. It's leverage. Just like talk about Curry.

Everything you hear this time of year is posturing.

My understanding is that he was much better in interviews than the other OT prospects.

There is absolutely a concern about the fact that he rarely ever put his hand on the ground and did some NFL caliber run blocking.

Maybe someone will want to trade up to get Stafford, but I doubt the 49ers or Jets will worry that they need the #3 to get him.

So, unless Pioli can find a way to trade down, it looks like we either get Curry or either Monroe/Smith. Not much in the way of suspense.

If Curry is gone (and maybe even if he isn't), Raji seems to be the guy.

We've only got a couple of positions genuinely solidified on the entire team. Why would we draft a replacement for one of them? Hell, by that logic, maybe the Lions will draft Moreno #1.

That's a great point about the importance of the interview for O-Linemen.

I always think about this with QB's, but this evaluative tool is just as important for the line.

The guy is an ex-Denver newspaper writer. He has no clue what the Chiefs are thinking. If the guy reports something directly, like "Romeo Crennel's agent told me this", then that's one thing, but most speculation on this board is more valuable than his insight.

Albert is a prime example. Williamson has been on for months about how the Chiefs could draft an OT at #3, and now he's trying to back it up with "word is". Like "word" of anything is leaking out around Arrowhead these days.

In closing, I'd like to pop that guy right in the nose. THE NOSE, I SAY.

I agree, he's a moron, like most everyone else at ESPN. I barely even watch most of the crap they have.

I was actually being sarcastic with the "word" thing cause that's exactly what I thought when I read it. And if that was the "word" he got then it would have to be a smokescreen.
