This can't be true. How is a 300 lb lineman digging his feet in to brace himself going to cause more turf damage than a 170lb man running across the surface?

Im a purist. I still like the grass. I know its not as pretty, but theres just something about it.

Me too. I like the mud and slop in those cold, bad weather games. That's real football. Enough of this "greatest (or worst, in our case) show on turf" crap.

A 100 yard 'moonwalk' covered in 70's shag carpet; NOW you're cooking with flame, son.

CoMoChief 12-02-2009 01:30 PM

Why not have a burnt orange colored field??? That would be kinda cool.

What's better for the player's bodies and therefore, career length? Is one better on the player's knees than the other?

"INTERCEPTED! And dropped."

"Tackled at the 30, forward progress to the 39."

"Tigers 3rd and 2 at the 40. Washington with the handoff, goes left, CUTS UP THE SIDELINE, moves forward and is tackled. ... It will be 4th and 2 at the 40."

I do like his "TO THE HOUSE!" calls.

I think he's better at basketball.

One I laughed at was something like "He BLASTS is way to the 49, sprinting to the 48"

I was like...hmm...must have gotten that extra yard super fast!

It's a football stadium..... I don't care if football tears up the sod.

The wording of this poll makes me want to pick nextTurf but I still went with the natural stuff. Natural > Fake :D

Plus, soccer players grind glitter into the turf when they run.

Grass is better for knees. Even though they new turf is light years ahead of the old stuff, it's still lacking the same kind of "give" that natural grass offers.

And from looking at arrowhead, traction shouldnt be a concern, there is plenty of give in that painted dead grass and dirt...

My knees feel 100x better since the new OP fields went in.

I've been on some of that new turf and it seems pretty cushy to me.

Always liked natural turf. It's like the last thing that's still old school about the NFL.
