Kids fight all the time, that is just the way of things. I tell my kids as long as they don't/didn't start it, then there will be no trouble at home, but try to resolve the problem without fighting if possible.

I use to beat the chit out of bully's. picking on someone because they are physically unable to defend themselfs against you or because they are different is something I figured out in 5th grade. I was 6' tall in the 6th grade so in my class at least there wasn't a lot of bully's, at least not for long.

I took my car to a shop to get it fixed one time. I went to pay the bill and they told me it was free. huh? why? Seems that the mechanic that worked on my car recognized me from grade school and did the work for free and paid the shop its due money. As a thank you for not allowing the bullies to pick on him in the locker room. True story.

Don't know if you saw this post or not. I'm not a guy to pick on people. Ill joke and tease arond a little, but I don't antagonize people or start shit to get into a fight. I don't agree with that at all. I'll let the other person start it or swing first. I just try to stay away from that shit unless it's pretty much un-avoidable.

When I was a boy, disagreements and personal affronts were settled on the jousting field. While the matches did occasionally end in death, aspersions were never cast lightly.

Heh, yea. I came home one day with a broken nose, thick blood pouring down my face, and the best my dad had for me, besides saying I probably had it coming, was “If the other guy doesn’t look worse it’s your own fault.”

my dad watched me get my face smashed in the 6th grade and didnt say nothin or lift a finger, boy i was pissed.

Hard lessons learned.

The problem is, is the pussification of America. Everyone wants to sue eachother. So schools have to cover their ass and take a "no tolerance no fault" action when it comes to fighting.

My dad said back in the day, if 2 people had issues with eachother, the gym coach would get them a set of gloves and they would duke it out, alone..with his supervision, no one around and that was that. Usually after that there wasn't any further altercations. There wasn't any gang fights, kids bringing knives and shit to school, 4 on1 fights etc. Of course my dad lived out in the middle of nowhere and this was like in the 50's-60's when it was ok to leave your shotgun in the back of your truck and a teacher could come out and look at it and say "cool here's mine"

No way in hell that would happen now.

My 14 year old is being stalked by a verbal bully that constantly goads him on until my kid snaps.....get detention, as of yesterday, I am afraid that he will be suspended because of the last altercation in front of the school, OFF property.

I hope it will be remembered by the principal, that we talked about the "stalking". The other kid has to have an escort by an adult around school, because he has caused so much grief that if no escort, the kid will get pummeled by other kids(not mine). My kid has only had problems with him, but my kid keeps getting punished. I am about to pay his principal another visit......and it won't be pleasant for either of us!

Sorry to hear your kid is having trouble.
Question: the other kid causes so much trouble he needs an adult escort? What kind of school is it that they don't expel this kid?

oohhh I was far from a saint up to that moment I realized how wrong I was for using my size to torment others. I threw a baseball faster than anyone has seen before. Kids were scared to death to get in the batters box. They would literally get in the batters box crying. My issue was that I had no control. So, I figured out that if I hit someone early on, the rest of the game all I had to do was get it over the plate and I'd win. But one game I broke a kids arm with a fastball. I actually wasn't throwing at him, the pitch just got away because I sucked at control. But I realized that just because I didn't mean it that time, it was just a matter of time before i hurt someone on purpose. From that day forward I never again used my physical girth to bully or intimidate someone. And never allowed others to do it in front of me. wellll besides when I became an adult and worked as a bouncer in some bars.
