A first-rounder with 2 years experience with Dorsey's upside (in the right defense, of course) should be worth significant compensation ... no question about it.

Although, through the years, Gunther's consistently demonstrated the amazing ability to convince GMs and HCs to acquire expensive talent for him ... maybe he can do the same in this case.

well I bet he turns off the feature where CPU can reject trades...

Shit...I don't know what combination of players (you can only do 3 for 1's) or picks the Chiefs could make that Madden would accept.

Dorsey is a 78 on the updated rosters, Jackson is a 76...our fastest defensive player is Flowers (at like 85)...both of our safeties have under 80 speed...our linebackers are ballsack slow as well...our highest rated linebacker is Hali at like an 80 (most recent updates)...

Our best player rating wise (other than Waters) is Jamaal Charles 86 (with amazing speed numbers)...and Dwayne Bowe (85)...

So I'm thinking Charles/Flowers/#1 for Calvin and to be honest I bet the computer would even reject that...

Even though Charles is probably the 3rd best back in the game to play with...speed kills in Madden this year and Chris Johnson and AP are unstoppable...and Charles is right behind.

Hootie 01-20-2010 04:38 PM

and if you ask me...

If we can get a mid 1st for Dorsey I'd be ALL over it...

let him go play in the 4-3 where he belongs

BossChief 01-20-2010 04:39 PM

I wish Tampa was picking at 2, I would feel better about sending Dorsey there. I would hate to doom Dorsey to a career under Gunther.

King_Chief_Fan 01-20-2010 04:41 PM

wishful thinking on someone's part. We will take the 2nd and 3rd rounder for him

That's ****ing crazy. No thanks.

Did i say "i think the lions would trade cj for dorsey" or did i say "straight up or a 1and 3?"

Just curious.

Because everyone the thread suggests a "straight up" trade, calvin is the only player on the lions worth trading for, besides stafford, and not happening.

You guys really do jump to conclusions.

I like Dorsey, but he will never be what he should be in this scheme, even though he will undoubtedly be a solid player in it. Suh could be a star and paired with Berry at safety or McClain at ILB would make this defense pretty good sooner rather than later and we would all of a sudden have a identity on defense.

If they would do it for Calvin straight up, that would be a deal.

I think some here have his value pegged way too low.

Now that, I could live with. I don't think Clark could though. That's a whole lot of skrilla.

Hootie 01-20-2010 04:46 PM

personally I'd take a 2nd and 3rd for Dorsey...

People can talk about this guy and his superstar talent and everything...

I just don't see it...and I don't think we'll ever see it in the 3-4 at least.

If we can get a mid 1st...awesome.

If we hold on to him and he does turn out to be a solid player...sweet.

I'm pretty indifferent about the whole thing.

Martin Mayhew's(Lions GM) intials may also be MM but he's not Matt Millen. Mayhew so far has shown he knows WTF he's doing. No way he trades anything for Dorsey when he can Suh or McCoy.

that's about as likely as Detroit giving us Calvin and Stafford for Dorsey and Cassel.

Totally. It's unrealistic. But Crennel is going to be running some 4-3 looks. Dorsey is still a very valuable commodity for us, and I wouldn't trade him for less than greatness.

yeah, but from their prospective they could get an elite talent on their defense without having to pay the huge signing bonus for that high of a pick and he would also add a very very valuable second rounder. With that kind of cash, he could do alot of things. I guarantee you they would love to have Dorsey on that d.

Gun would misuse him in Detroit and he would never reach potential though...

SUH>Dorsey+2nd
