They both married white women too.

Maybe the thinking would be that Quinn and Williams would be a better first round than Clausen or Berry.

Right, something along those lines. Cassel is still on board like it, or not. I can't believe the boat ever gets rocked to the point of taking a QB at 5. My take is that Berry isn't some savior either. Quinn has at least been in the NFL to provide some competition versus some risky late round dude.

How about this?

Cleveland:

1st round pick - #7 overall
Brady Quinn
D'Qwell Jackson

Kansas City:

1st round pick - #5 overall
Matt Cassel

I don't play any Madden.....and yeah....it was a homer trade.

I would probably do that Dane trade if we were assured Seattle or whoever picks at #6 doesn't take Berry and Berry is still there...

I'd do the trade, either way.

I don't think that the Chiefs covet Berry. I think they'll go line, whether it's defense or offense.

Cleveland really screwed up. They should have traded Andersen when they had the chance. I remember saying it back then. Trade him now while his value is high and give Quinn a chance to start. Andersens value will never be higher. Now look. They released him and get nothing.

You're right. The Browns blew it with Andersen. The Patriots got it right. They got rid of Cassel at exactly the right time. Get rid of the backup when he has everyone believing he could be a starter.

I dont want Quinn, but for a third, he is a good fallback option for when Cassel fails or gets hurt by midseason and should be a good long term #2 qb after we release/trade MC after the season and we draft Jake Locker in the first.

We have a good long term #2 QB.

Agreed.

Cassel would be a fine backup. Seriously.
