Kroger's in Omaha is Baker's.
Kroger's in Wichita is Dillon's.

I think they do that shit to confuse the consumers. :D

Does anyone have any IGA's near them or am I still living in the '80s?

I like the simple 'medium' Ortega smooth red sauce for a taco, I'm pretty simple w/ Mexican, when I make it, mostly concentrate on uniform cut, COLD veggies such as slivered lettuce and maybe small small dice tomatoes, well chilled - I alway enjoy jalapenos. I like Sargentino Sharp Cheddar, sour cream and chives, are also important. But i don't **** w/ skirt steak or anything like that and If i make fajitas, it almost alway chicken, or i'll just do a fillet, though i haven't done up any beef fajitas in nearly 4 yrs.

Nighty nite all. thanks.

 It's good to see they're still around. I miss the IGA store in my hometown. It closed up as soon as Dillon's opened their doors. :(

I worked in an IGA in Oregon for three years in the early 80's. That chain (Roth's IGA) is still going strong in the Salem, OR area. I don't think I've seen any in the Spokane area.

I've never seen an A&P's though I remember being amused by the Piggly Wiggly when I was in Georgia for my AIT training in the Army.

My Grandmother did, but she's no longer w/ us, but yeah, she lived right by BOB's IGA in Carthage Mo. It was always rad going over there...

Good night, SR! :)

Edit: IGA's bring back a lot of memories for me. Sorry to hear about your grandma. :(

Simply Red 09-15-2011 11:19 PM

we used to go to a mom n pops store in Stover Missouri enroute to the lake. She's always get good fresh cut cold-cuts. Also, notably, she bought this colby cheese which was cut on the meat-slicer, Grandma (the other grammy) would alway ask them to cut it as thin as possible, it was amazingly good.
