He's a good WR, sure. But he will be going into his 6th season in 2012.

If anything, it would be a bit more realistic for a team like the Browns who have 2 first round picks as well as a lot of others to trade up if the Rams had the first overall pick(or to trade for Bradford, which isn't going to happen).

me thinks you have power balls flashing in your eyes

You think that this draft is going to turn into a lottery win for your suckass Rams and any suggestion otherwise is unacceptable.

I agree. Trading picks is one thing...

Thank you. If I were the GM I wouldn't be willing to trade DJ, Hali, or Berry. IMO, those guys are untouchable. Anyone else would be considered along with some picks, including Bowe and Charles.

I'd give up all three of them for any of the top 5 quarterbacks in the league that are under 26.

I'd give all three and a first for Luck to be a Chief.

I say stick with Orton for 2012, trade down and get as many picks for next year when Barkley comes out.

That's the problem. I'd give up an arm and a leg for Aaron Rodgers or Peyton at 23, but you'd be giving up proven STARS at several positions as well as a possible star in a 1st, for a CHANCE at a franchise QB.

All three are great players that greatly impact games, but without a franchise quarterback that can win shootouts against good defenses in the playoffs, you are spinning your wheels.

Having a guy like that as your quarterback would sell out season tickets.

Even the club would be sold out.

In the long term, it would be a no brainer looking back to have that guy.

BossChief 12-29-2011 11:04 PM

Our offense would be close to set and has the power to put points on the board while the defense is built up through the draft.

It's a steep price to pay, but reality is that the only way this team gets a top guy in the next few years is to spend big to do so.

It's not about that. Bowe will be going into his 6th year. Not worth it, IMO.

I think the only viable trade ammo is Bowe. While we could package him with some picks to get 2/1 pick, it is unlikely. Miami could be willing to deal Marshall or Long to move up (Long is doubtful). The Rams could trade with us, but in doing so they would have to settle for an older receiver who drops passes and not be able to get Kalil.

I'd shift Bowe for a top 10 pick, but I doubt that offer would be on the table, despite some CP homers thinking he's worth 2 top 5 picks on the open market.

I'd shift Charles for anything in the 1st round. He's coming back from an ACL and he's probably got 2 more productive seasons left before be starts the inevitable RB slide to mediocrity.

it'd be a franchise-then-trade deal I would think.

This. Take the QB that's there and be done with it. This team is ready NOW. No more 2 steps forward, 1 step back bullshit.
