They've been dumping contracts for a while.

I've said this before, but I'm really surprised the Bucs aren't in on Manning. I know they have Freeman and all, but it's a new regime... they play in Florida, tough division for sure, but they've got money to blow.

Broncos: $44.7 million under.
Chiefs: $32.5 million under.
Seahawks: $29.8 million under.
Titans: $28.1 million under.
49ers: $21.8 million under.

Texans: $4.7 million over.

I agree and yeah I heard that theory is why they haven't spent the last 2-3 years. It makes sense and makes them look cheap.

This team can afford any of the top tier FA's this year so unless the team is a cluster**** we should see some big time players come here.

You are forgetting one MAJOR fact. This is the last year the Chiefs can be cheap and save money. Next year they are required to spend.

Let's see, 32.5, carry the 1...that's ah, 16 Ike Ndukwe's. /Pioli

Just talked to a reliable source in KC -- the Chiefs aren't out of it either. Productive meetings between KC and Peyton's people.

He probably spoke to Nick Athan.
Move along, people.

Dignity, respect, the division, and any shot at a championship.

This quote does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about free agent signings for KC. It says, we are going to go out and find free agents that are cheap and other teams might not consider.

only 32 mill?

Clark is going to have to cancel his Fox Soccer Plus subscription

And when it gets leaked that we pursued some high-profile guys that went elsewhere, they've already go their built-in excuse.

'productive talks' means that Condons assistant didnt immediately hang up on them.

'c'mon man, Toms there and you know it, i heard him in the background...'

I wish someone like Cuban would buy us and keep us in KC of course. I want an owner that is serious about winning a Super Bowl. Please just sell the team Clark. Maybe we can get a Bob Kraft situation where a STH ends up buying us and go from there.

Seriously, though. That's a shit load of cap space.

Question - how'd you fellas manage that?

We're !@#$ing skinflints in KC and somehow the Broncos have a full 1/3 more cap space than we do? Do you not have anyone like McGahee or maybe a couple of linemen that need to be re-signed?

How the hell can Denver be sitting on that much money? The Chiefs, for all they are not (i.e. 'successful') have at least done a good job of being frugal. There's next to no wasted money on our cap, except for the insane cap figures of Jackson and Dorsey. Is it that simple? Does Denver just not have 2 superfluous lineman taking up $25 million in cap space and that's how they're able to blow everyone away here?

Tyson Jackson strikes again...
