I use this stuff when I make pulled pork sandwiches. The name change was dumb and gay, but the sauce is good.

Gates will always be the perfect sauce to me.

You guys are killing me with this thread, I had two peanut butter and butter sandwiches for dinner, and now I come on here and read this. Damn. I love good BBQ, now that is second on my list after Taco makings for when I go shopping, and I am stranded at home until the repair truck picks up my wheel chair and takes it to the shop to repair and delivers it back to meagain, which means I'll gorge myself when I am finally get these done. The last BBQ I had was ground beef cooked crumbly with BBQ sauce out of the bottle, pretty much the quality depends upon the sauce.

You won't find it in any stores. It's a local sauce out of Tonganoxie, KS called Fat Sam's. The absolute perfect mixture of sweet and spicy.

Smokehouse/Jack Stack, pretty much the same, pure awesomeness.

Gates is very easy to mimic at home. Nothing like that available in AL, so I make my own. My recipe base started with the Gates version, but now you would hardly recognize it. Tasty stuff.

Maybe you should start a business. I'm sure your BBQ sauce is far from Gates. |
