This shouldn't be a felony charge, and the fact that the cop is off work and suing the guy makes me suspect that the cop is kind of a deadbeat. The guy truly was an idiot to not take his ticket, though.

I've had my foot run over in a similar situation, and while you panic a little when it gets trapped, I just chuckled once the wheel was back off. Tires are soft. Other than a few seconds of fear it never even really hurt.

this. has happened more times than i can remember to me.

doesnt hurt much , if at all. the lower the profile the more pain, though. i can say that from experience.

shit I'm just going to have to say he is lucky to have a foot left now that i REALLY think about it...

i have 235/35/20's on a car, the rim is closer to the pavement than the height of my foot. i would bet that that car's sidewall is probably at least that height.

probably DID hurt like hell, lucky its not broken..

i know i flip flopped in ONE post but i got to thinking and went out and looked at the car.

Well, that may be true if the Ferrari has really low profile tires. I didn't think about that.

I think it's great. Every cop everywhere should be recorded all the time. I hate them. Not b/c they cause me trouble, I obey the law. I hate them b/c they are a bunch of power drunk, trigger happy murderers who don't even murder the right people.

What little respect I had for the man with a badge, just went off a cliff.

Two idiots who were picked on in school just happen to meet that day.... **** them both.

First, the cop's foot was never actually run over. He put his foot in front of the tire and the tire bumped against his foot. He was never in extreme pain and I think his reaction was more an effect of his being extremely annoyed by the douchebags actions and lack of respect for authority.

Second, the kid was eventually trying to get out of the car. Why the need to slam him up against the car and then take him to the ground with force and the help of other officers? I understand the cop being angry, but come on. There's a reason why many people have lost a lot of respect for cops.

Finally, the line in the article that the cop was treated for his injuries and then released, but that he still wasn't back to work. Give me a break. That cop was never injured.

The cop basically moved in the way so that the driver could NOT leave the seen. The driver ran over the cops foot.

All the driver had to do was wait until the ticket was written and then if he wanted to fight it later in could. Yah know? Common sense? If the valet did indeed park the car then he could have gotten a written statement from the hotel or whatever, taken that to the court house and had the ticket absolved.

but whatever, it's more important to flee the scene of a $100.00 ticket then to act responsibly. Oh, and in case you didn't know, he is a pretty big deal is Soho. See, he has a bright, shiney red ferrari to prove he's a pretty big deal. Just in case you didn't know.

I don't see how they came up with $10M.

I could see maybe the equivalent to double time for his time off on the job but that's it. All he got was a swollen foot.

that's how civil suits work, they sure for as much as they can, hoping to settle for much less. The fact he was driving a Ferrari doesn't help.
