I would say a 2nd year player who has played well under limited opportunity doesn't qualify as dumpster diving.

I could see it with half their career over but a second year player?

3 numbers for 3 names...

I want results, no matter what and figure a 1st round QB is most likely the route, but if we get the wins and rings another way I dont give a ****.

This. There's a thought out there that a magical 1st pick overall is going to equal the next Peyton Manning. Problem is I'm seeing more Jamarcus Russell than Manning out there.

It is amazing that the Redskins pick TWO excellent QBs in ONE draft and the Colts once again pick a Hall of Fame QB after Elway and Manning picks.

We only pick when it's shit!

Just like this magical thought that a 4th round pick is worth a 2nd round pick after 1 1/2 games and is going to lead the Chiefs to the SB.

Don't count your chickens yet. The Chiefs have yet to pick. Wouldn't want to ruin a 30 year run.

The same argument that works for you works against you.

So you'd base a players potential off a college season where it wasn't great vs. an actual NFL season. All things being equal no quarterback is guaranteed anything. I'd rather go with the consensus that these guys aren't going to be the next Manning and go after someone with equal upside and lesser cost and use the gift to upgrade the total shit team we currently have.

I'm of the belief that the Chiefs problem with quarterbacks has less to do with drafting a quarterback and more to do with not giving equal competition and refusal to not admit a mistake and move on.

Get back to me when Cousins plays a NFL season.

If Cousins had equal upside to Smith he would have been a consensus 1st round pick.

Get back to me when you understand that this isn't madden and that these overall evaluations are just educated opinions not actual scores you can plug in. The same overall educated opinions that applied to Brees, Brady, Romo, Russel Wilson, etc. and the same overall educated opinions that applied to Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf to name a few busts.

**** that. Trade a 2nd for cousins. Trade 1 overall to St. Louis (make them bitches take it for their 2 1st round picks) and pick a spot where to upgrade the shitfest.

Trade McCluster for a 2nd and sign every free agent for chump change, and we win the Madden Super Bowl next year!

You don't think a 1 overall is worth 2 middle round 1sts?

RealSNR 12-16-2012 08:39 PM

Tell me the differences between Cousins and Stanzi coming out of college, guys.

All this bullshit you want to talk about now is just after-the-fact pining for mediocrity.

Cousins would have been a ****ing reeruned pick at the time for us because we already had Cousins on the roster.

Don't give me any of this "Cousins has started an NFL game lolz" bullshit. He was a slapdick coming out of college and found the right situation on a team with a QB that gets injured easily. That team has a TANDEM of excellent QB coaches, and they also aren't married to John Beck/Rex Grossman/whoever else you want to play the Matt Cassel role in this comparison.

**** Cousins and everybody who wants him.

If it means missing out on Smith or Wilson (which it very likely does) then **** no.

Cousins is NOT a starting QB

I thought I explained it when I said this isn't madden where the consensus number 1's are opinions not numbers.
