You can't be that naive.

There is a world of difference between "hurting Clark's feelings" and flat out insulting his pride.

Let's not forget that Clark is still a Type A personality with a sizeable ****-off streak. A lot of us on this very board are very similar creatures. If you start preaching at us, we're going to dig in and tell you to get bent.

Would it be a wise decision for Clark to make? No, not at all, but don't think proud men don't make foolish decisions all the time when they have been called out.

Honestly, if you believe the banners in a vacuum are making Clark's decisions for him, then I think you're running a 50/50 gamble on whether or not they push him over the edge or have him dig in his heels.

I personally don't believe the banners are making a difference in a vacuum. Rather I believe the support they are rallying from the press and public is what has truly made the difference. As such, you need to remember your audience and continue to work forward with that in mind.

We are also conveying the message to the national media and public, which are ****in idiots. You've got to say it bluntly for them, or it will go over there heads. The average fan that would then have more interest in researching QB draft prospects.

The softer, less specific, more poetic option is better. NewNewNew.

Option 2 all the way.

The more detailed you get, the more you sound like asswipe, know-it-all fans.

Stay vague in your demands and you keep more focus on the end game - the "New Hope".

Clark knows the score at this point, as will any football man he brings in to replace Pioli. Don't go getting cute and demanding now.

Right on. :thumb:

That's the absolute worst thing to do is being vague with a message

:spock:

Yes, that is the best way to get a point across...

I'm honestly shocked. I thought #1 would win in a landslide. This is the last place I thought would be afraid of offending someone

And most of that audience would rather sign Alex Smith than draft Geno Smith.

Don't care if #2 wins in the poll, you must go with #1. Executive decision.

Don't let these slap dicks at 1 Arrowhead weasel out by interpreting "new" in a broad sense.

The slapdicks at 1 Arrowhead aren't djinns granting SOC a wish but interpreting it like a lawyer. They're going to make the pick they want with only marginal concern over fan satisfaction. If they think they have a better chance of winning with Alex Smith than with Geno Smith, they're going with their football instinct no matter what the SOC banner says.

You mean the NFL draft is not a sure thing?!?! The hell you say!!

But if you never take a chance where does that get you? The same damn thing we have been subjected too as Chiefs' fans!!

So were John Elway, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Eli Manning, Troy Aikman, Drew Bledsoe, Michael Vick, Philip Rivers, Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, and Matthew Stafford. I guess we'll have to take the (gasp) risk and draft one and see how it turns out.
