If I had to give a comparison to Reid, the first person that comes to mind is Shanahan. I see them both as guys that will put out a good product pretty consistently. Both suffered from being in the same spot for too long.

As for the idea that Coughlin previously failed in the NFL, he took an expansion team and had them in the AFC championship game in their 2nd or 3rd year. That team was good for the majority of his time there.
