That seems pretty silly from my own frame of reference, but there was a time not too long ago when a number of other words (****er, bundle of sticks, etc.) weren't thought to be all that bad either. It's just the way the world is going these days.

The Redskins were here before you were born and will be here after. It's tradition, leave it alone. |
As for the "are the Chiefs next" question...I wouldn't think it'd even be in the same ballpark. "Chief" is not an offensive word, and the football team's name actually came from Mayor H. Roe "The Chief" Bartle, who was instrumental in getting the team to move to KC.
Now, you could make an argument that the "tribal chant" and even "Arrowhead" could one day be in jeopardy, but I wouldn't think the name "Chiefs" will have any trouble sticking around. |

But I'm not a libtard. If the "Redskins" term does get banned you can bet it's only the start. |

Chiefs were named after Roe Bartle, an obese and somewhat reeruned-looking white man, so I think we're good to go.

How about the KC Meth heads?
You could have this guy on the side of your helmet: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_d-J-JGsD_r...heMethHead.jpg He looks scarier than the honkys on the Raiders, Patriots or Bucs logos. |
