Bad calls on both sides. Refs sucked yesterday

Something about that play there: why wasn't it designed for Bowe?

Welcome to the world of Alex Smith.

You can have the 3rd highest paid WR in all of football on your team, and he'll feel much safer tossing it to Jackass Mc****ington the backup FB/TE/WR.

I can't fault him for it until it starts to lose us games.

Once the air is in my balls, it doesn't matter.......

Wait, whut?

Someone showed a stat the other day that said the most catches by a WR on a Reid team ever was TO with like 70 something.......point is, Reid likes his QBs to spread it around.

I think the first shirt grab about a second in is the one that got him nailed. The grab started with initial contact and lasted several steps, yanking the jersey in a very visible way - and the ref is right behind him with a perfect view. Also it definitely affected the play by flinging Avery downfield while giving Claiborne momentum towards the ball.

I guarantee you the refs were not looking to throw a flag in that gigantic spot and only would do so with clear, indisputable evidence.

Actually, wasn't that within 5 yards?

doesn't matter if the defender pulls the wr with that back arm

looks like it was holding AND then pass interference, could have called both

the announcers were convinced it had no "material" effect on the play

Probably get a fair shake on the NFL Channel but then we play the Giants. So with 3 straight games against the teams that are required to be on at least 1 prime time game a week, any calls that go our way will be poo-poo'd

It looked worse in realtime than it was. Only a light infraction.

The optical illusion is Avery was pulled down with his left arm as he goes to swat the pass with his right hand.

But the Refs seems to be helping out DBs some this year with an emphasis on calling the WR push-offs.
