Letting Flowers go is the obvious choice. I don't think we'd see much or any decline in our secondary if we could sign an average veteran free agent corner or a draftee with some upside.

Well you can trade away a player like that if you can get a deal like the Cowboys got for the Hershal Walker trade. Yep JC should cost more than just a first round pick but who would bite?

Charles is one of the few running backs in the league that you can't easily replace, so you don't trade him.

In the NFL, that would make him a fool.

We wouldn't see a decline in our secondary if we lined up 11 D linemen.

That's how bad it is now.

Problem is we need to replace ****a too. Picking up 2 solid CBs 2 years in a row is TOUGH.

RE: JC. I don't know. I hope he doesn't. I think it is a good possibility, but I doubt he wants Chris Johnson money, and I doubt the Chiefs would be willing to part with Chris Johnson money.

No way the Chiefs will give Charles Chris Johnson money. If his agent wants that type of contract, it could get nasty.

No, you don't give him 5 years of top 5 RB money with a signing bonus. Redo the contract, increase it by two years to 2016. Just increase the money for the next 3 years. Give him another $10 million signing bonus.

This would be doable IMO.

Dunerdr 01-11-2014 03:57 PM

How bout keep shit the same and just throw a monstrosity of a signing bonus in for "restructuring"/ being 30% of our offense.

I would trade Jamaal in a heartbeat for a #1 WR or a pass rusher.

Easier said than done.

That's pretty stupid.

Jamaal's at the top of the league as a RB and has been for several seasons. If it weren't for Adrian Peterson, people would be talking about Charles as the freak-of-nature who showed absolutely zero lingering effects from his injury in 2011.

And with Andy Reid using him in multiple ways, his career has probably been extended by a significant amount.

Unless you're going to give me a WR or pass rusher who absolutely dominates the position like Charles does in his, **** that trade so hard in the ass.

RB's win playoff games, right?

Charles is one of the few that could.

Either way he is a great fit in Reid's offense considering he likes to get his RBs 60 or 70 catches a year.

Building a team around a great running game, a great defense, and a very good (even if not elite) QB is a great model to follow.

Ask Eli Manning, Flacco, and Big Ben how important that running game is.

If JC plays Indy, we're playing the Pats today.
