Oh, man. Now I'm having flashbacks. One night the messenger of the watch (gopher) was sent to get more coffee during a pretty bad storm. As he was jogging up the ladder (stairs) to the bridge (place where important people hang out) he was passing someone and just started puking his guts out. That someone he passed was the Officer of the Deck coming off watch (guy temporarily in charge that gets to go to bed now) and he grabbed the coffee out of the guy's hand so it wouldn't spill and yelled, "You almost spilled the coffee, you stupid ****, now clean up this puke!" Fun times. The officer then brought the coffee back up the steps. Because the only important part of that story was the coffee.

Coffee is super important.

My girl little debbie brings the chocolate icing like you wouldn't believe.

Everything is shit. The coffee is their claim to game though.

The chicken is giving delicious that's why. It's the hate that is hard to choke down. I longer eat there. Mac Lethal gave me their recipe anyways.

Also, I was in the Navy. I will drink any coffee. I don't care how old it is. I don't care what brand it is. I appreciate the various levels of quality, and I can tell the difference, but I will drink the horrible shit anyway if that's all that I can get.

Wasn't in the navy but I did drink atleast a pint of Evan Williams everyday for the better part of a decade.
When you cultivate a habit like that, coffee of any type is the only thing to help get a fella to 5 o clock.

Edit- that's non narcotic anyway.

Dunkin' is a goddamn institution. You could never hope to understand!

Also they are literally everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

Just Passin' By 03-10-2014 11:05 PM

Coffee
doughnuts
muffins
sandwiches
occasionally paired with Baskin-Robbins for ice cream

It's not quite something for everyone, but it makes for a good place to stop and grab something you like.

Ultra Peanut 03-11-2014 12:18 AM

Word. One cannot overstate the importance of selling breakfast sandwiches 24/7.

The one here was balls out ****ing awesome when I was in my 20's.

A guy named Ecton (****ing ECTON! Who really names their kid that!?!?!) ran it overnight and he'd hook me up. He'd start the new batch up at 3am and depending on when I got there he'd give me some free day old or tell me to wait a few minutes for the fresh.

He was an institution.

Free source of strange information only a job like that would give. He knew all the cops, all the newspaper/advertisement mag guys, and oddly enough a fellow pretty high up in a local bank that got me my 2nd car loan (and I had $#it credit.)

Back in the 90's a doughnut clerk helped me get a $4k loan.

Now there's a ****ing subway there that won't take my $20 without marking the bill first...

**** dunkin, we got a little familyoperated one called Rollen's doughnuts thats been around for years. Rollen finally died a few years back, but the family kept it up! Thats my spot when im feeling like a maple bar

The problem with Dunkin Donuts outside of the north east is that the quality can vary quite a bit by location. You go in one and it's run great and the store is clean. Then another one will be a dump, they'll be out of 75% of their donuts and the employees don't know what they're doing.

Oh, this is interesting. You're saying that Dunkin' is the preferred coffee of the average Joe? Class warfare via coffee shops, you can't make this up...

I'm not a huge coffee person, but Starbucks is honestly the worst coffee I've ever had at a coffee shop. I'm not sure how it got so popular. Einstein Bros is much better, just not as widespread.
