1. Travis Kelce is the breakout tight end of the year. Not breakout but I think he'll be a decent weapon this year along with Harris. Much like the beard last year.

2. Mike Catapono and Dee Ford prove to be monsters, perhaps combining for 15 sacks. I think these guys will make nice impacts this year. Not like Tamba and Houston, but I think they will be nice role players who can produce and get around 5 or 6 sacks. I think Walker will get some nice pressures too.
Glad we improved on the surrounding cast bc last year it was mainly Poe/Tamba/Houston.

3. Abdullah or Commings play even just a little better than Kendrick Lewis. definitely Lewis was so bad last year. I think Abdullah will be solid. He showed he is better than Lewis last year.

4. D-Bowe plays like he did vs. Indy, more times than not. I think Bowe will get better in the system but won't be a breakout guy.

5. Cooper plays like he did last year, and improves vs. Manning. I think he'll be a nice player like last year. Love his skill set.

6. Smith/Jamaal/DJ/Houston/Hali/Berry/Poe stay healthy and good. Hope everyone stays healthy but we are prepared for JC, Tamba, Houston.

7. DAT replaces DMC, and then some.DAT will be just as good because of Toub IMO.

8. The interior OL impresses. (I like Fulton) God I hope so.

9. Bailey/Walker get push that T-Jax never could. This will happen. T-Jax was that bad and Walker/Bailey were far better in the pass rush last year.


10. and finally, Fisher steps up. I hope so but I have no idea.

The cap situation didn't help matters improving this team. Reid/Dorsey's only real attempt in FA was Sanders and that fell through. This past draft was deep in talent especially at the WR position which is a need for this team but yet not one WR was taken in the draft:spock:. Yes, we got our slot guy but we need a legit No.2 that plays like a No.1. Don't know if R/D are waiting for more releases/cuts from other teams as the off season progresses and TC approaches but it does say one thing for sure, that they must be 'damn confident' in this roster at this point. Many of us 'don't see it' BUT I hope R/D prove the majority of us wrong:thumb:

Without seeing a down of preseason for this and all responses, KC will be fortunate to get ~250yds 1TD out of Kelce. Fasano, McGrath and Kelce will probably total 700 yards and 5 TDs unless Alex Smith takes an hallucinogen before each game and starts seeing Vernon Davis on the field.

Over/Under with those two combined should be 6.5 sacks. Justin Houston collected 5.5 in his rookie season. Dee Ford is no Justin Houston, and it remains to be seen if Sutton will actually rotate his linemen.

65 receptions, 825 (+/- 75)yds, 6 TDs, 1 rush for +12yds on a surprise end-around.

Ehhhhh he could look a lot worse. He's still adjusting to the corner position and it wouldn't surprise me if he looks bad at times because he starts to over-think plays and will get toasted a lot more often.

Recall that in 2011, a Todd Haley and Romeo Crennell-coached team won 7 games and nearly won (a garbage filled) AFC West had it not been for two blocked field goals without Berry and JC and without a talent like 2013 Dontari Poe on the defensive line and with a noodle-armed less-than-journeyman at quarterback in Tyler Palko starting a handful of games

That season pretty much proved that the NFL is still an "Any Given Sunday" league as the Chiefs outperformed their "pythagorean" as is purported by Pro-Football-Reference.com in that they were only expected to win four games considering their point differential and were 4-2 in games decided by less than six points.

Beyond that I won't say jack about player health to avoid bad juju.

Congrats on your playoff win against the Bengals. Maybe you should hang a banner for it? But they became at LEAST an average NFL team last year, one year removed from being a 2-14 national joke. I would call that progress. And that average team, went into Indy in a playoff game against a really good QB in Andrew Luck and after just a few plays, lost their best player in Jamaal Charles, and still managed to make the Colts look like the Jags for an entire half of football. That shows the *potential* of this team going forward.

Now let's look at the Chargers. You have a QB in Rivers, who is aging and managed to discover something last year that we haven't seen for years, as he has been absolute garbage the last few prior years (as even your OWN fans have stated) and now you're going into this year expecting to challenge Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos for division supremacy? Do you really think, honestly, that Rivers will be able to repeat the season he had last year? And what's even funnier is your own fan base seems to think the late addition of Brandon Flowers is the move that puts your defense over the top! You did watch Flowers play in Arrowhead against your Chargers last year, I assume? Were you particularly impressed with his play? Just curious. I realize you didn't get to see him in Week 17 (that was the game that 'our' second stringers played against your teams starters and you stil barely managed to win to make the playoffs, just in case you forgot) so you had a small sample size to view. I like Flowers. He's a good guy. Hard worker. But, unfortunately, he's nothing more than a slightly above averge CB at this point in his career. If Chargers fans think that was the move that will put your team and defense over the top and allow you to compete with Peyton Manning . . . . well, good luck with that.

Bottom line: your team is aging and trying to hang on with Rivers for one last 'hurrah'. The Chiefs are an average NFL team, after being atrocious two years ago and are extremely young and improving. We will get better. We're building something to last under Dorsey and Reid. I hope you enjoy the next two years of playing second fiddle to Manning and the Broncos. Until he retires and the Chiefs are ready to step forward and take control of the division for years to come.

Breaking down your mess of a post would take hours so here are a few points of rebuttal:

- The Chargers are not an "aging" team. The only fogies are Gates and Freeney plus Rivers is only 3 years older than Smith

- Rivers is playing in a lower risk offense with better protection from his O-line, hence the mass reduction in turnovers. Yes, this trend will continue.

-Flowers should be better next year playing in the Chargers defensive scheme. Please remind me who the Chiefs starting CBs will be next season.

- You're under the impression that Peyton is unbeatable. While that's true for the Chiefs, the Chargers managed to beat the the Broncos in Denver week 15.

- A lot of folks are referring to the Week 17 match up where the Chargers struggled to beat the Chiefs backups. If there's one area the Chargers could improve it would be consistency. They lose to the Raiders one week and beat Indy the next.

- The Chiefs had a hell of a run last year and were definitely improved but they had a lot of luck. I didn't see the Chiefs do much to improve this off-season. They used the draft to acquire future replacements (no WR or S), picked up no FAs worth mentioning and lost a lot of players due defections. If anything the Chiefs will be fielding a worse team next year.
