It is not my first job by a long shot. What it is is a culmination of 4 years of hard work with a goal in mind. I chose to leave a job I hated and had been in for 20 years to pursue a different career. With a very small sample size of experience I landed a job less than 2 weeks into the job search. Furthermore, this job gave me virtually everything I've wanted: good pay, health insurance, pension, paid holidays, sick days, and an office of my own.


However, the best part of it is 40 hours a week I spend doing what I can to help people with developmental disabilities live a happy, fulfilling life.

Nothing could be better.

Congrats Diddy! It is very difficult to make the decision to switch careers, but also very difficult to stay with one you are unhappy with. Glad you were able to take the leap and follow your heart. May you live with abundance and happiness in your new endeavor.

I have a little brother that is mentally disabled. The kid is the best thing that ever happened to my family. He has had serious difficulties to overcome, and the case workers that have impacted his life really can't be overstated. It truly is a job that will give so much back to you as well, now that you are getting the opportunity to help these amazing individuals. I am so thankful to you and all the others like you that make helping them your goal.
