Ventura has been fine tonight.

That was a very Yordano like way of the opposing team scoring 2 runs.

Salvy should have conceded that 1 runner was going to score. It was an unfortunate bounce off the chest protector. Should have ate that throw home.

The numbers look awry, but watching the game hasn't demonstrated as much negativity. A lot of singles and bounces going against Yordano.

The last inning was bolstered off of a pitch that Cano somehow golfed into a double. Have to credit the hitter in that situation. Not going to fault Ventura for the wild pitch either. Salvy smothers those balls at an absurdly high rate, and Ventura needs to trust that he can bounce a pitch here and there. He didn't that time, it happens. Salvy led Ventura too far on the throw and it got away, causing the second run to score. Again, not entirely on Ventura.

Hate to say it's a tad unlucky at this point, but tonight was a tad unlucky.

Ventura was lucky he didn't get his knee blown out.

Yeah, some bad fortune for Ventura for sure. But, with 2 outs, he did a piss poor job making pitches he needs to make in order to shut down the inning. Overall, not a bad outing at all for Yo.

Agreed on all counts. It also doesn't help that the pitchers can't count on the Royals offense scoring runs. Every inning is a high stress inning when you feel you have to pitch a shutout to win.

There's nothing wrong with burying a curveball to miss bats.

I'm grasping for any straws possible to fuel my delusion that Yordano will one day be a consistently competent professional baseball player over here.
