The numbers look awry, but watching the game hasn't demonstrated as much negativity. A lot of singles and bounces going against Yordano.
The last inning was bolstered off of a pitch that Cano somehow golfed into a double. Have to credit the hitter in that situation. Not going to fault Ventura for the wild pitch either. Salvy smothers those balls at an absurdly high rate, and Ventura needs to trust that he can bounce a pitch here and there. He didn't that time, it happens. Salvy led Ventura too far on the throw and it got away, causing the second run to score. Again, not entirely on Ventura.
Hate to say it's a tad unlucky at this point, but tonight was a tad unlucky.
