Plus a brand new $220 million on-campus stadium doesn't hurt either.

New Mexico and Colorado St would make sense regionally

Agreed. The problem for New Mexico is that it doesn't sit near any significant population center.

yea, which is why i want the Big 12 to try and go big.

Hit the Florida market hard by adding FSU and UCF.

With the grant of rights signed by the ACC - there is no way FSU is leaving.

Realistically and based on markets and overall university strength - I would go with BYU, CSU, UCF and Cinci.

Oklahoma and Texas can't leave, without hassle, until GOR has elapsed. So, they will bring in more teams to make as much money as they can until they can leave the Big12 and leave it to die.

Where would they go or want to go? Pac 12? I guess they did kind of flirt with the Pac 12 back during the time of the shake up.

you add UCF and USF you get millions of eyeballs watching Big 12 football in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas. And those Florida recruits will see all the Big 12 teams in person. USF plays in the Bucaneers stadium. UCF has a big stadium too.

Yeah but what about the academics at each of these institutions? It's all about the academics these days.

Force the TV networks to pony up even more.

JoeyChuckles 08-12-2016 07:26 PM

For the record, I'd take four of the schools: Cincinnati and UConn, BYU and Colorado State.

Oklahoma would probably go to the SEC and Texas would be a toss up for B1G/PAC12

I'm not sure how UCF fits in geographically.

That doesn't seem to matter anymore. You just need over a hundred students with a pulse and be able to field a football team.
