Passing against the blitz

Which quarterbacks fared best against the blitz in 2016? Alex Smith of the Chiefs had the highest Total QBR (93.0), completing 66 percent of his passes with four touchdowns, two interceptions and only three sacks.

Tom Brady had the best touchdown-to-interception ratio with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. Ryan’s 13 touchdowns were the most in the NFL (he had one interception).

What % of Alex Smith's passes against the blitz were bubble screens or passes that were thrown 3 yards or less in the air?

Embarrassing at a Proctor level...

Pretty close to his overall ratio. Wasn't it like 14-8, or something along those lines?

On a side note, did teams blitz us more or less frequently than other QB's?

Edit: 15-8

Hey reerun, most QBs try to make a defense pay for blitzing and go over the top. They don't throw a 3 yard dump off to get their RB smashed.

File your complaint to ESPNs stats teams. While it would be nice to have Matt Ryan or tom Brady, it sure is reassuring our QB can deliver the ball instead of taking the sack during a blitz (hell the sack rate went down 40% this year! huzzah!) alongside some of the best.

It's just an article so don't let it get your panties in a bunch, children.

I am forced to agree... a pass behind the LOS completed to a WR/RB for a 2yd gain on 3rd and long is better than a sack. In the end, however, it's still a punt.

Do you have actual facts? Cause from what I can see on ESPNs splits he had 115 plays against the blitz and the average gain was 7.74 yards/attempt.

Not intended to humiliate, just clarification. Fake news is becoming an epidemic.

It's a weird obsession. Reid has had other QBs go deep before, including Foles this year. There's one constant in the equation of checkdown and shit pants.

Rerun even finally figured it out.
