Alex Smith won exactly one playoff game in 9 years for the 49ers. ONE. One game albeit he played good against the Saints I will give him that but he couldn't get his team to score 20 points to beat the Giants much like the same he couldn't get 20 points to beat the Stealers.

So his ceiling was last year.

He is on the downward spiral of his career and had some concussions that could be back to haunt him.


He may have a few good games that will be oh where was that before? But he is never consistent enough to consider him a good quarterback over being just mediocre one.

My point is.....Alex isn't as bad as you think. There's not a lot of good free agents or quarterbacks in the draft this year, unless you want to bend over for Geno Smith.
