Oops...Tyreek......gotta love posting on mobile.

Last night's play calling was pretty shitty IMHO. Seemed to be the same 4-5 motions on every play and highly predictable.

I saw little to no quick slants, no jet sweeps, no screens. Did I miss something? :hmmm:

Disagree. I think we know what they are. Best offense in the league overall, but poor interior blocking which leads to struggles in the short yardage run game. Average defense overall that still struggles to contain the run. When Andy's playcalling is on point and the team is focused, they can blow out anyone. Otherwise, they can allow mediocre teams to hang around.

Yeah, if we don't tighten the screws we might see a repeat from last night. Remember what bellichick did. Bend don't break. Let us march down the field where we struggled in the red zone. The other thing bellichick did was harass the living daylights out of kelce. We need to find ways to get him involved.

The bad news is Tua is way better than Brian hoyer or Drew lock. The good news is he's been wildly inconsistent. And their running game doesn't scare anybody. So the D alone could cover us just enough to have a lukewarm offense performance.

Tua isn’t “way better” than anybody. Tua is ****ing trash.

Early odds line has Chiefs (-7.5)

lewdog 12-07-2020 03:04 PM

Tua isn't really a QB so we should make him throw. The defense doesn't have to play well here but Miami is pretty trash running the ball too.

I do think it will be close (within 7) but I don't see their offense being able to score late, similar to the Donkeys, to be able to win this game.

Do the Chiefs still run that package where KPass kicks inside on 3rd and long? Last year that seemed to be effective on obvious passing downs.

Reek had 1 jet sweep for 30 yards I think. Hopefully, Andy stops with the triple reverses in the red zone and just pounds it in there from now on.

They’re not built to dominate at the point like that though, they didn’t do that in the playoffs last year, never really have under Reid because his lines value pass blocking and athleticism above all else.

The window dressing and ‘cute’ stuff doesn’t always work but I think it does give them the best chance to score in those situations.

Headed down to a familiar location for the Florida heat and a highly formidable opponent.

The Dolphins have a great defense, a mediocre at best offense. Not all that different from Denver really, but coached better.

A win would clinch the AFCW for the 5th straight season, so there is some added importance. Of course we are on Pittsburgh’s heels, too.

I think we all aren’t totally sure what to make of the team at this point. They’ve been inconsistent in their focus, their execution. There seem to be problem areas that could be upgraded by simply plugging a backup in (hi, Wis), but it remains to be seen if any changes are going to be made.

It’s a weird league where outcomes are all over the place, winning is really damn hard, but they’re still 11-1 and largely look to be on cruise control half the time. I do think there’s something to be said for the GS Warriors comparison where sometimes they just don’t flip the switch until they have to. I guess we will see what happens as the games get bigger and bigger for this team.

This one won’t be easy, but if the offense comes out locked in from the go, it shouldn’t be a scare. I also think it’s another opportunity for the defense to perform well again, but I still feel like we need more from our pass rush along the DL moving forward.

Game is at noon on CBS...

Not sure what to make of an 11-1 team? In a season of bad Chief Fan takes, this is one of the Chiefs Fanniest.

You do understand that the motions allow Pat to unmask the defense, no?

Pitt Gorilla 12-07-2020 04:25 PM

Just to be clear, here. The Chiefs averaged over 6 ypc last night. Our RBs averaged over 4.5 ypc against a stout defense.

I know Chief Fan expects every player to be perfect or the best at their position, but those numbers are fine for the run game.

Collinsworth only explained it 4 or 5 times last night. I guess it's just that hard to understand.

I didn’t word that statement the best or exactly as I meant it.

More so what I was trying to say is they keep finding ways to win which is great, but it’s rarely ever as expected, nor as easy as is expected. Win is a win, I got it.

The offense has been great really outside of the two Denver games where they just killed us in terms of situation football.

Special teams have been hit or miss. The defense has been pretty good IMHO but it’s clear that there’s more meat on the bone, and the pass rush output we have saw for the past month is not the same level we saw early in the year.

htismaqe 12-07-2020 04:50 PM

Why would anybody expect it to be "easy"?

It's the NFL and it's built for parity above all else.

Expecting games to be easy is just a bad expectation.
