Err...I guess. Not that big a fan. If he converts to LT and does so well then cool. If it's RT then nope. Think I'll wait to see what Brown gets before I feel too up or down, hopefully a lot more because he's better than Taylor

Yep.

I’ll reserve judgment and trust Veach.

Whatever sacks he allowed last year will go down with Mahomes and Reid. Probably will only allow like one or two with us.

Strongside 03-13-2023 12:24 PM

I could see us still taking an OT high in the draft and seeing how they perform in the system, because this dude can play either side.

you don’t pay $80mil for a RT. should have resigned Wylie if that’s the case

Now trade for Tunsil, then you could resign Creed and replace the guards with cheap guys.

I'd rather over pay for interior guys. Mahomes almost got killed the year that our interior got trash.

This guy is our LT no matter how much you wanna get rid of draft picks.

I think the Chiefs just made a choice. They're spending money on RT and going to draft a LT. Maybe they are planning on playing him at LT though.

Too much for a RT.

Though the RT does have to be better than most here because of how frequently we play the TE off the line. That's what typically makes RT easier. It's less about blind side and more about getting strong side help from the TE. Our RT doesn't usually get that.

It's stout, man. I don't known how you could structure 4/$80 million w/ $60 guaranteed as anything less than $20 million/yr for 3 or 4 years. And that feels about 10-15% too high.

That said - I wouldn't have paid him this much. $20 million per is a hell of a gamble on a LT conversion.

Yeah that's my issue. But I kinda depends what Brown gets

Gravedigger 03-13-2023 12:25 PM

Gotta make these moves and the players gotta understand their new role and expectation.

You do if you can get a LT in the draft on a rookie deal. Veach has shown that he'll do whatever it takes to protect Mahomes.

That's something I've been pondering in recent years. I feel like Wylie was taking on the premier pass rushers pretty frequently. I mean, just look at SB LVII. He was on Reddick all day.

I posted that before I saw how much. He's definitely the LT.
