Veach gave a masterclass on how to draft this year.

Does anyone doubt that at least one UDRFA he brings in is going to make this team?

Really great job by KC

For the most part it's a good draft for the DE and DT I favored other players there but that's just team evaluation.

I honestly thought this was the worst draft I've seen the Chiefs pull off since I became a fan in about 1990. I feel sick. It feels like the defining moment that the dynasty collapsed. Just arrogance is what it was. From the first pick, a guy that already has had a career ending injury, to the last pick, a below average receiver with no skills that tried changing to RB late in his career. Every pick was "we are the smartest guys in the room" Icarus level arrogance. I feel sick to my stomach. Heads in that organization got way too big.

I've always thought I was one of the dumber guys in most rooms.

But I think this draft class is pretty damn good!

If BWillie can chime in and offer a similar review, I’ll be fully convinced this class will usher in a 10-year run of 10 SB wins.

Your move, Beau?

No IOL taken.

Do we take that as extra confidence in Kingsley at LG?

He’ll be an All-Pro and better than Thuney, IMHO.

It's obviously an A for me. I'm not going to go full homer and say A+ because there's a lot that needs to laky out with Josh Simmons, but they did everything they had to do in rounds 2-7 to justify taking the big swing and risk in the 1st.

This is my first year doing an official my guys list. There's only so many guys you can fit in a single mock, and you never know how the board is going to play out, so this is a fun exercise.

Honestly hard to argue with a single pick after all was said and done. Getting Smith sealed it for me, I think you’ll see him as a returner right away and I think he could fill that McKinnon role eventually. Great value in every round and several day one contributors.

I don’t understand some of you with the negativity. I couldn’t imagine this going better picking at the bottom of every round. You could potentially have 2-3 year one starters out of this at key positions. Just a huge pat on the back to these guys, they played everything perfectly.

The only pick I don’t like is Simmons, but the rest of the draft helps to mitigate that risk substantially.

I can understand the hesitation on the Simmons pick, it took me a while to get on board. The thing is, I’m not really sure they had a choice. The talent at 32 was simply too good to pass up at a position of desperate need. Even if he’s only 75% of what he could have been because of the injury, he’s still the best tackle we’ll have a shot at for a while.

If he ends up as even a Fisher level LT for us for 10 years, it’s a grand slam. You just have to take that swing.

I probably would’ve preferred a small move up for Conerly, but that means no Bassa and someone else. I may still prefer that move, but I can see an argument for what Veach did.

All in all, can’t complain too much right now.
