So sad. I wonder if this ends up being another head trauma issue ala Seau?

But the chiefs could and should forfeit it. Too much money to be lost though, Clark will trot them out there and the Chiefs PR team will tweet about Silers first NFL start since whenever. |

I would assume that the players are meeting offsite and being brought in by the white vans for a team meeting.

I don't know what to say.

Before I go, if the NFL forces the Chiefs to show up tomorrow, and I were the Chiefs. I'd simply take a knee and walk off the field. |

I don't know how they can play the game.

The coaching and management must bear some blame in this. For all their talk of leadership, they should have. Seen that something was wrong and interceded prior to this point. The story is running on nfl network, just the same nonspecific report that was here.

Was he suicidal before and randomly killed someone beforehand? Or did he just take the cowards way out not wanting to face the music for what he did? He's still a murderer. |

I'm starting to wonder if this happened inside the facility. Reports had said it was in the parking lot.
I'm not seeing any yellow tape, officers, crime scene investigators, etc. in the lot. |

Worst season ever. Prayers go out to his and her family. What a sick dude.

It's hilarious to think the NFL would even consider canceling the game...people aren't that dense, are they?

You have to tell Jacksonville to travel. Because they can't make the decision yet. Still too new. And the logistics of travel are too tight to tell them to hold off. So you have send them on the plane now and have them fly back if they have to.

Wow, that is ****ed. Not only do you think of Junior Seau with the brain damage, but also Chris Benoit who did a murder suicide a few years back. Head traumas and possible drug abuse (whether steroids or pain killers) could certainly have played a role in all three cases. Who knows? Regardless, so crazy.

The shock of this brings back the news of Joe Delany untiemly death - except he was a true hero saving the drowning boys. What a terrible thing this is . . .
|
crennel and pioli have a lot of guts/balls if its true they met face to face after he already killed someone
thats a huge risk, essentially their own lives and that takes a lot of something. |
Shocking and very sad, prayers out to the families

sorry to hear this kc fans, very tragic, very disturbing. I'm not sure what will happen in the immediate future but football just doesn't seem real important now.

maybe he killed his girlfriend and himself because Pioli made him pick up a gum wrapper. idiot |
Belcher?

No Inmem58, Belcher does deserve some backlash for this no matter what he may be going through. He still carried out the act and is a damn coward in the end.
|
It's callous but a bottomline thought, Pioli may resign over this shit too.
I know it's a dehumanizing thought, but I'm just saying. |

This is awful, what a horrible situation. I don't see how the players are going to want to play tomorrow.

Quote:
I have absolutely zero respect for Belcher for how he decided to end things. No amount of trouble is worth someone's life or your own life. Not to mention, now his daughter will never know she had a father and mother. This is the absolute worst thing he could've done. |

Just saw a report that it happened near the front door to the facility, and that police were parking their cars when they heard the gunshot. |
I'm speechless. Such a tragic thing. This sort of thing happens every day but pro athletes are on a greater stage than others...It's a sad realization.

HE'S DEAD. Whatever the team does it will be for the survivors to help ease their grief. INCLUDING HIS TEAMMATES. I'm certain they will speak with his family, the NFL, and their marketing people to determine what they will do in regards to honoring this person. He hasn't been around too long so I don't think it will be much. Not like Steve McNair who died in what I suspect was a similar situation. McNair had achieved a great deal in his NFL career and a tribute was warranted. |
Sure you don't have have to judge but still doesn't make it right.
|
Just ****ing wow. Feel sorry for the gir's family...can;t say I feel sorry for Belcher. What a chicken shit
|
Fescoe just ****ed up and said Belchers name
|
According to Danny Parkins:
Police no longer at the scene Player shot himself once police arrived on the scene |
Quote:
It's hard to rationalize such an irrational act. And it's equally hard to feel sorry for someone who takes the cowards way out and worse, takes someone with him. |
I think we draft Teo now. My heart goes out to the family of the victim and the Chiefs community.
|
Parkins responds "did you just say the players name?" Fescoe then said no we didn't say the name
