Do you guys all really like Dead Rising? I played the demo and thought it was repetitive and boring. I thought it was a cool idea and planned to buy the game, but the demo actually convinced me not to buy.
What am I missing? |

I haven't played it for a long time, but I'm not really sure I gave it a fair chance. With the way everyone raves about it... I figured I'd go back and give it another shot eventually. |

I just enjoy it because I enjoy zombie genre.
Zombie movies and video games are pretty awesome to me. Lame and nerdy, I know. |
Just about done playing Oblivion and I have really enjoyed it. Is there any comparable games out?
|

Nothing I've seen out, but Bioware's "Mass Effect" looks really good from the previews. I've really enjoyed their other RPG's. No spoilers please, but I must say the end of the main quest in Oblivion was tough as hell, and looked incredible. Really enjoyed it. Working my way to head of all the guilds now, before I start over. |

plus the download content available on xbl (knights of the nine) but to answer you're question - no there isn't another game like oblivion out for the 360... some upcoming games: Mass effect and the Lord of the Rings The White Council (looks like it's going to be AMAZING) |
Screw it just play some Saints Row, now that's a roleplaying game.

Crackdown demo is up on the Marketplace
http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...9102134347.jpg http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...9102132941.jpg http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...8044107819.jpg http://imgred.com/tn/http://crackdow...creenshot1.jpg I have trouble waking up in time to go to class or minor things like that, but you bet your ass I was going to try to wake up as early as possible if it meant playing the Crackdown demo. So, at 5 AM or thereabouts, my groggy eyes opened and I sprinted to the 360. The game takes a little getting used to at first, but it's verrrry nice. Put simply, this is GTA from the perspective of someone who is essentially a superhero, when it comes to physical abilities. And yes, that's every bit as as fun as it sounds. I've only played it for a couple of hours so far (the demo has a one-hour time limit), but just leaping and climbing around is fun enough to spend hours doing that alone. The driving isn't amazing, but it's decent enough, and there are so many fun things that I can't even imagine yet just waiting to be done with the physics. The draw distance is as amazing as advertised, and the cel-shaded, "vaguely near future" style works. The main complaint I have is probably that the targeting system, while incredibly nice on the whole and something GTA IV should aim for, is kind of sluggish when it comes to switching targets when there are multiple enemies bunched together. This occasionally leaves you shooting at a dead guy for a bit too long, but then, you're a ****ing superhero; you can handle that. I'll probably play through the demo a couple more times today, at minimum. It's taken the game from definite rental to definite purchase. Purchased so hard. From another forum: Quote:

I got Lost Planet over the weekend. It looked so cool I couldn't resist.
It's... hard to explain. The gameplay is odd. the play control feels a little clunky. The game is done in this anime style which I think is kind of lame, and you can tell in the dialog sometimes. The game LOOKS great, the weapons and vehicles are fun, and the basic idea is pretty cool. Some of the enemies are a real pain in the ass, and more of a chore to kill than something that adds to the game. However, some of the other enemies are incredible. The way that they move and are animated is cool. There are other ones that are enormous, to where they appear and you're like, "Ho-ly crap". I saw this worm looking thing last night the scale of which reminded me in one of those star wars movies where they fly out of the asteroid that is inhabited by the giant worm, and the ship is about as big as one of the teeth. It's not quite that large, but you get the idea. Jury still out on the game, from my POV, but it's... interesting. You have to play it on the medium difficulty at least though. On the lowest setting, the heat aspect of the game isn't a factor (the planet is extremely cold, and your survival suit needs to collect heat from the environment to survive). I think it really adds to the gameplay. It gives it a totally different feel. |

Adept said earlier that he really enjoyed Star Trek Legacy, so I rented it. Graphics are very cool, but handling the starship is a bit of a chore. It's slow to respond to commands and can get a bit frustrating to play.

In Legacy, you start off with the first Enterprise with Capt. Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula narrates), and go about missions. You try to assemble a fleet along the way, with you earning points after each successful mission. With these points, you can buy ships to add to your fleet, adn they join the gameplay at whatever point you just left. I haven't made it terribly far as I have just the Enterprise, an early version of the Reliant, and a Washington class battleship. The game IS engrossing, but I just have a little bit of a problem with the controls so far. |
And htis, I assume you progress through the Star Trek timeline to end up as Picard in the Soverign class Enterprise.

SFC II took place in the "movie" period (pre-TNG) and had Romulans, Klingons, Gorn and a couple others. You could build up a fleet of 3 ships and fit them with weapons. SFC III took place in the TNG era. You were limited to one ship. Both games were loosely based on the tabletop/RPG Starfleet Battles and SFC II has a strong underground following to this day, even though it's almost a decade old. |
Anyone else download Heavy Weapon? Been playing on live, it's highly addictive.

Madden '07 balanced?
I just got the game a few days ago. I'm playing on "pro" since I suck at it still. Here's what just happened to me. Playing my <= 5th game since I bought it. I'm playing superstar mode, and my player was drafted by Tampa Bay. Cincy @ Tampa Bay. My player: 24 / 32 530yd 6td 1int. I am starting to figure out the QB mode, so you'd think this stat line would be good enough to win. However, we lose 62-48. Carson Palmer is 7/10 for 203 yd and 2td Rudi Johnson has 15 carries for 258 yd Chris Perry 3 carries for 90 yards I mean, everytime they ran a play they either got 15 yards or broke a 60 yard touchdown or something. WTF? Can't they balance the game to not give up so many big plays? Not to mention, we were down by about 20 points in the middle of the third quarter, and the CPU coach is still calling draw plays and runs up the gut. I had to rearrange the audibles just so we could throw and try to get back into the game. Nice A.I., EA. |

We're actually slightly ahead of the pace of San Andreas, though. The release date wasn't even announced for that until March of 2004 (it was released in October). |
I just played the CrackDown demo, it is sweet.

Okay, I'm way behind the times here and I just started playing Call of Duty 2 online. My ignorant questions is, is there a way to disappear from your opponent's radar? Thanks.

Tiger Woods 2007 is actually a challenge and I enjoy it. It's not easy to win tournaments in the career mode. The computer gives you a hard time on the back nine on Sunday. Golfers will come out of no where to take the lead. You can't win a tournament by 40 shots anymore.

Question for you guys - I bought one of those controller chargers - so I wouldn't have to stock up on batteries.
Does anyone else have problems with theirs? I plug them into the top of my controller, but they're not charging. When I first purchased and used the charger it worked. But, now, to no avail. Help, please. |

or this http://www.gamestop.com/common/images/sbox/802270a.jpg ??? |
The first one.
|
Is the red light coming on? Is your controller battery actually dying, or are you just using the 360's guide window to see the battery life?
The guide window's meter is never accurate, so if your controller's still working, don't worry about it. If not, I would take it back and get a replacement. Either the charger isn't working or the battery itself is screwed up. |
I have both, but i have yet to use the plug and play device. i asked for the batterypack for xmas, n they said F it n bought them both lol.
|
The light isn't coming on at all.
When I had first purchased the item it was working and the light would be red and turn to green when charged. But, now it's not working. Maybe it just doesn't work any more? It's unfortunate I didn't keep the Best Buy receipt. :( |

I checked metro, it was plugged in all the way.

I get where you're coming from and believe me I would have felt like a complete putz had it not been plugged into the XBOX, haha. Any other viable solutions other than batteries?
The 360 made the charger I bought and their accessories usually never go bunk. Now Mad Katz is another story. Should I just go buy another? |
Okay, I need some persuasion folks. I'm thinking about buying either COD3 or Rainbow 6 Vegas?
Which of the better two has the BEST ONLINE gameplay as far as versus, not co-op. Pro's/Con's please, let the persuading begin. :) |

The guns are great, the other devices like C4, GPS, Radar Jamming, etc are a lot of fun to use. It is the most tactical online game out right. Lots of camping and stategy; if you run around like a wild man you'll die early and often. At first it is frustrating because you have reach certain ranks to unlock some of the guns, commo, and armor but you can overcome it. Also you can use the xbox camera to scan your face onto your soldier which adds a little extra fun to the game. As far as negatives go, it does lock up from time to time and graphically GOW and COD3 are probably a little better. |
Wow, nice response. What is the max on a server on R6? 8v8?
|
Quote:
Couple of more things.. The maps are great with lots of variety and 10 new maps are about to be released. You can also choose from a bunch of different online game types. Like I said earlier I liked GOW and COD3 better a first but once I figured everything out LV took the cake. |
I think I may prefer COD3 because it's not as strategy based. I'm picky. I enjoy GoW, but the maps are small and you can only play 4v4. I like more realistic shooting games - that is why I came here. To help decide.

So, is COD3 more comparable to Medal of Honor on ps2? I remember having 2v2 games with some dorm buddies @ ESU my first year in college and those were pretty fun.
I've also heard CO2>>>>CO3. Thoughts? |

Anybody playing Crackdown? I had my copy shipped to me so I haven't got it yet. I mainly bought it for the Halo 3 invite and was hoping the game would be decent as well.
