Damnit. That was the only way my brother and I could kill him. I wish this would have been around back then. Now I'm kind of done with the game.

It's a button masher, but i love these kind of games. I played both Kingdom Under Fire games for the XBox and played some of the Dynasty Warriors series.

Do you guys all really like Dead Rising? I played the demo and thought it was repetitive and boring. I thought it was a cool idea and planned to buy the game, but the demo actually convinced me not to buy.

What am I missing?

I got bored with it really fast. Escorting the survivors to safety is a huge pain. Their AI is horrible.

I haven't played it for a long time, but I'm not really sure I gave it a fair chance. With the way everyone raves about it... I figured I'd go back and give it another shot eventually.

I had fun with the demo blasting zombies with a shotgun for about 2 minutes. Then it got repetitive. I picked up some other weapons but the game quickly seemed to dissolve into run, jump, mash attack button if necessary, rinse, repeat

Ceej 01-16-2007 12:55 PM

I just enjoy it because I enjoy zombie genre.

Zombie movies and video games are pretty awesome to me.

Lame and nerdy, I know.

Nothing I've seen out, but Bioware's "Mass Effect" looks really good from the previews. I've really enjoyed their other RPG's.

No spoilers please, but I must say the end of the main quest in Oblivion was tough as hell, and looked incredible. Really enjoyed it. Working my way to head of all the guilds now, before I start over.

well.. you're only 66% through the game.. lots of quest to complete before you've done it all :)
plus the download content available on xbl (knights of the nine)

but to answer you're question - no there isn't another game like oblivion out for the 360... some upcoming games: Mass effect and the Lord of the Rings The White Council (looks like it's going to be AMAZING)

Imon Yourside 01-17-2007 12:33 AM

Screw it just play some Saints Row, now that's a roleplaying game.

Crackdown demo is up on the Marketplace

http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...9102134347.jpg http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...9102132941.jpg
http://imgred.com/tn/http://xbox360m...8044107819.jpg http://imgred.com/tn/http://crackdow...creenshot1.jpg

I have trouble waking up in time to go to class or minor things like that, but you bet your ass I was going to try to wake up as early as possible if it meant playing the Crackdown demo. So, at 5 AM or thereabouts, my groggy eyes opened and I sprinted to the 360.

The game takes a little getting used to at first, but it's verrrry nice. Put simply, this is GTA from the perspective of someone who is essentially a superhero, when it comes to physical abilities. And yes, that's every bit as as fun as it sounds. I've only played it for a couple of hours so far (the demo has a one-hour time limit), but just leaping and climbing around is fun enough to spend hours doing that alone. The driving isn't amazing, but it's decent enough, and there are so many fun things that I can't even imagine yet just waiting to be done with the physics.

The draw distance is as amazing as advertised, and the cel-shaded, "vaguely near future" style works. The main complaint I have is probably that the targeting system, while incredibly nice on the whole and something GTA IV should aim for, is kind of sluggish when it comes to switching targets when there are multiple enemies bunched together. This occasionally leaves you shooting at a dead guy for a bit too long, but then, you're a ****ing superhero; you can handle that.

I'll probably play through the demo a couple more times today, at minimum. It's taken the game from definite rental to definite purchase. Purchased so hard.

This game is hilariously awesome.

I got Lost Planet over the weekend. It looked so cool I couldn't resist.

It's... hard to explain. The gameplay is odd. the play control feels a little clunky.

The game is done in this anime style which I think is kind of lame, and you can tell in the dialog sometimes. The game LOOKS great, the weapons and vehicles are fun, and the basic idea is pretty cool.

Some of the enemies are a real pain in the ass, and more of a chore to kill than something that adds to the game. However, some of the other enemies are incredible. The way that they move and are animated is cool. There are other ones that are enormous, to where they appear and you're like, "Ho-ly crap". I saw this worm looking thing last night the scale of which reminded me in one of those star wars movies where they fly out of the asteroid that is inhabited by the giant worm, and the ship is about as big as one of the teeth. It's not quite that large, but you get the idea.

Jury still out on the game, from my POV, but it's... interesting.

You have to play it on the medium difficulty at least though. On the lowest setting, the heat aspect of the game isn't a factor (the planet is extremely cold, and your survival suit needs to collect heat from the environment to survive). I think it really adds to the gameplay. It gives it a totally different feel.

Adept said earlier that he really enjoyed Star Trek Legacy, so I rented it. Graphics are very cool, but handling the starship is a bit of a chore. It's slow to respond to commands and can get a bit frustrating to play.

Dunno. Never tried that one out on my out-of-date PC.

In Legacy, you start off with the first Enterprise with Capt. Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula narrates), and go about missions. You try to assemble a fleet along the way, with you earning points after each successful mission. With these points, you can buy ships to add to your fleet, adn they join the gameplay at whatever point you just left.

I haven't made it terribly far as I have just the Enterprise, an early version of the Reliant, and a Washington class battleship.

The game IS engrossing, but I just have a little bit of a problem with the controls so far.

Bowser 01-23-2007 10:07 AM

And htis, I assume you progress through the Star Trek timeline to end up as Picard in the Soverign class Enterprise.

Sounds alot like SFC.

SFC II took place in the "movie" period (pre-TNG) and had Romulans, Klingons, Gorn and a couple others. You could build up a fleet of 3 ships and fit them with weapons.

SFC III took place in the TNG era. You were limited to one ship.

Both games were loosely based on the tabletop/RPG Starfleet Battles and SFC II has a strong underground following to this day, even though it's almost a decade old.

Madden '07 balanced?

I just got the game a few days ago. I'm playing on "pro" since I suck at it still. Here's what just happened to me.

Playing my <= 5th game since I bought it. I'm playing superstar mode, and my player was drafted by Tampa Bay.

Cincy @ Tampa Bay.

My player: 24 / 32 530yd 6td 1int. I am starting to figure out the QB mode, so you'd think this stat line would be good enough to win. However, we lose 62-48.

Carson Palmer is 7/10 for 203 yd and 2td
Rudi Johnson has 15 carries for 258 yd
Chris Perry 3 carries for 90 yards

I mean, everytime they ran a play they either got 15 yards or broke a 60 yard touchdown or something. WTF? Can't they balance the game to not give up so many big plays?

Not to mention, we were down by about 20 points in the middle of the third quarter, and the CPU coach is still calling draw plays and runs up the gut. I had to rearrange the audibles just so we could throw and try to get back into the game.

Nice A.I., EA.

Nothing yet, aside from the standard "Bogota? London? Futuristic Tokyo?" stuff. R* keeps their shit locked up unbelievably tight.

We're actually slightly ahead of the pace of San Andreas, though. The release date wasn't even announced for that until March of 2004 (it was released in October).

Oblivion: Shivering Isles expansion video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFI9IoXyGxc

In a similar vein, Two Worlds has morphed the online portion of the game into an MMORPG mode:

Quote:

The good things in life are best shared with friends! The “Two Worlds” developers have also taken this to heart - and added a fantastically varied MMORPG mode to their new game! Players can now oppose one another or join forces in Antaloor as Arena or RPG characters!

Let off steam in the Arena with exciting head-to-head battles - and remember it's only your skill that counts here - Arena characters all have the same status!

For all you hard-bitten RPG fans out there, the multiplayer game is the real thing! Want to establish your own individual character? "Two Worlds" has it all! The main jump-off point for role-playing gamers are the towns – they serve as both meeting places and platforms for starting various quests. In typical MMORPG style, this is where players meet for the first time, hold get-togethers in their favorite bars or simply look around for new challenges. You can also join Clans or found new ones. When a clan has got together, an adventure then begins that is tailored to the strengths of the group, which can be up to eight players in number. The game character develops in a completely free manner (no level limits) and can collect equipment and experience points too. You have traditional, classic adventures available - and also novel challenges, like horse racing! You can of course save your game character and equipment on the server - and you can continue his development whenever you’re ready... or you can earn yourself some money, by selling off special artifacts and weapons in the towns.

Character creation is based on various races and classes which will be introduced soon. These figures all have their own basic characteristics - and of course you can fully develop these during the course of the game! You can mold all the optical characteristics of your character as well, creating your own private heroes via a special interface! Color of eyes, breadth of chest, length of arms and legs...almost anything you can think of!
Kind of sounds like a Guild Wars-style approach. Let's hope it's good.

Tiger Woods 2007 is actually a challenge and I enjoy it. It's not easy to win tournaments in the career mode. The computer gives you a hard time on the back nine on Sunday. Golfers will come out of no where to take the lead. You can't win a tournament by 40 shots anymore.

Question for you guys - I bought one of those controller chargers - so I wouldn't have to stock up on batteries.

Does anyone else have problems with theirs? I plug them into the top of my controller, but they're not charging. When I first purchased and used the charger it worked. But, now, to no avail.

Help, please.

Is the red light coming on? Is your controller battery actually dying, or are you just using the 360's guide window to see the battery life?

The guide window's meter is never accurate, so if your controller's still working, don't worry about it. If not, I would take it back and get a replacement. Either the charger isn't working or the battery itself is screwed up.

Maybe it just doesn't work any more? It's unfortunate I didn't keep the Best Buy receipt. :(

I know it sounds stupid sometimes, but it's happened to me before. Maybe you're just not as stupid as me. :)

I get where you're coming from and believe me I would have felt like a complete putz had it not been plugged into the XBOX, haha. Any other viable solutions other than batteries?

The 360 made the charger I bought and their accessories usually never go bunk. Now Mad Katz is another story.

Should I just go buy another?

Okay, I need some persuasion folks. I'm thinking about buying either COD3 or Rainbow 6 Vegas?

Which of the better two has the BEST ONLINE gameplay as far as versus, not co-op.

Pro's/Con's please, let the persuading begin. :)

I own COD3, GOW, and Rainbow 6 LV and IMO Rainbow 6 beats all 3 in terms of online play. When I first got it I hated it and swore by GOW but a month or so ago I put it back in and haven't stopped playing it since.

The guns are great, the other devices like C4, GPS, Radar Jamming, etc are a lot of fun to use. It is the most tactical online game out right. Lots of camping and stategy; if you run around like a wild man you'll die early and often.

At first it is frustrating because you have reach certain ranks to unlock some of the guns, commo, and armor but you can overcome it.

Also you can use the xbox camera to scan your face onto your soldier which adds a little extra fun to the game.

As far as negatives go, it does lock up from time to time and graphically GOW and COD3 are probably a little better.

Wow, nice response. What is the max on a server on R6? 8v8?

You can play 8v8 only on a dedicated server but usually 7v7 or 6v6 is most common. Finding a dedicated server is hard since the person hosting the game can't play.

Couple of more things..

The maps are great with lots of variety and 10 new maps are about to be released. You can also choose from a bunch of different online game types.

Like I said earlier I liked GOW and COD3 better a first but once I figured everything out LV took the cake.

I think I may prefer COD3 because it's not as strategy based. I'm picky. I enjoy GoW, but the maps are small and you can only play 4v4. I like more realistic shooting games - that is why I came here. To help decide.

COD3 is a great game. Good maps, good guns, etc you'll enjoy it. All 3 offer something different that appeals to different types of gamers. You really can't go wrong.

I like COD3 don't get me wrong. IMO all 3 games are must haves; I just prefer LV online. I like taking cover, fighting from room to room, setting C4, etc.

So, is COD3 more comparable to Medal of Honor on ps2? I remember having 2v2 games with some dorm buddies @ ESU my first year in college and those were pretty fun.

I've also heard CO2>>>>CO3. Thoughts?

I didn't play COD2 much online to be honest. I do like the different roles you get to chose from on COD3 online. Some examples: Medic you get a shotgun and can heal injured players, Sniper you can call in air support, Support you get a machine gun and can supply ammo to the other players and there are a few others.

PSA for all 360 Owners:

Don't buy Viva Pinata for your kids for Valentine's Day. You'll never get your XBox back.

Redrum_69 02-14-2007 10:19 AM

DOnt lie...you bought Viva Pinata for youself htismaqe

your mom is like a pinata...she loves hanging upside down on the S&M swing, while everyone below whips out their sticks one at a time and walks blindly around, she take some beating, and if you pound her hard enough she'll spill her goodies all over for everyone to get a piece.

This is why you need your own big screen tv in your cave.

It's hard to convince the wife that I need ANOTHER big screen. :D

Archie Bunker 02-20-2007 10:31 AM

Can I transfer music from my laptop to my 360? If so what do I need to do/buy?

Thanks

I'm working on that one as well. Let me know if you find something that works.

Archie Bunker 02-22-2007 01:48 PM

Anybody playing Crackdown? I had my copy shipped to me so I haven't got it yet. I mainly bought it for the Halo 3 invite and was hoping the game would be decent as well.
