That is what pisses me off about baseball. No instant reply. I cannot handle losing a game on a wrong call. I just can't handle it. He was out, completely out, and I was even rooting for the Rocks. It might not of mattered, but it could of.

never touched the plate....can that be reviewed?
|
Tulowitzki should've been player of the game.

Im no Padre fan, but Tim Mclellan should be run from the league. He calls a horrible game, and now this.

There once was a town by the bay.
All of the sports teams were ****ing gay. I sit here in pity, what a lame ass city. And both my teams are ****ing shitty. |
Hey Kaeding: You're a class act and so are the Padres. I'm sorry that you're going to have a crappy couple of days. You don't deserve them.
Maybe you'll get some payback on Sunday. |

Charger's will make wildcard, don't worry.

I think it was really close... closer than that replay looks... there was so much dirt kicked up, if he just got a corner of the plate it would've been hard to tell.
|
I still have Clint Hurdle's autograph from spring training 1980.

That was a classic game. The rockies just wanted it more. I don't know what it is about san diego, maybe the weather, but they are SOFT.

Poor Trevor Hoffman. All-time saves leader gets punked like a bitch. |
It's nice seeing Clint Hurdle but Bud Black had to lose...2 former Royals going at it in the playoffs...that's nice to see.

His ass shoulda been pulled after the first run. |
Who knew Hoffman would bring a larger gas can to the mound that the always flammable Jorge Julio?
|
that was an anti climatic call by the ump and it made for a bad call too. He is.... uh safe? Safe Rockies win! Damnit that soundbite should have been awesome now it resembles a 17 year old with premature ejaculation

hoffman is a bitch

But even absent the Carroll hit that scored the winning run, IMO you're correct about walking the bases full. I'd like to hear the strategy explained. |

2007: "HOLLIDAY SLIDES AND HE'S ... he's ... uh ... looks like .. just a second, the umpire is looking ... looking ... appears to be -- safe, I believe ... so apparently the Rockies win the playoff." |
Holliday says: "I assume I did (touch the plate) and the umpire said I did..."
Hmmmm. |

Having a changeup pitcher on the mound with the winning run on third and no outs is asking for it. 1) You should have walked the bases loaded 2) You could have brought in a sinkerball or K pitcher if you had any left in the pen... 3) Hell, you could have brought in Chris Young...it is your season on the line. |

Over the last 2 years hes gotten out of about 5 Bases Loaded no out situations without giving up a run. |
And San Diego fans should pillory Peavy every bit as much as Hoffman. He was awful in that game. He's supposed to be the best pitcher in the league and he got hammered in the biggest start of his career.

Mcclelland should be fired, the crooked as umpire and officials in this country are really killing sports

Condolances, BK. Shitty week for you.
At least your suffering with the Padres is over. |
At least you have the Clippers to look forward to......oh wait.
There's always next year! |
Lets see...
Notable Trevor Hoffman Blown Saves: 2007- Blew a 2 run lead to the Rockies in the bottom of the 13th in a one game playoff for the NL Wild Card. Blew a 1 run lead in the bottom of the 9th against the Brewers with 2 games to go in the season which would have clinched the the NL Wild Card for the Padres 2006- Blew a 1 run lead in the top of the 9th in the All Star game. This would have clinched homefield advantage for the National League, and clinched the first win for the NL in an all-star game in over 10 years. 1998- Blew a 1 run lead in the top of the 8th inning in game 3 of the World Series by giving up a 3 run home run to Scott Brosius. Im sure there are more, these were the only ones I could think of right now. The only 2 games that I can remember he saved in a clutch situation were last year, last game of the year, had a 3 run lead in the 9th, and due to a bad call by the umps, he got the 3rd out and saved the game by 1 run. And in 1996 he saved the final game of the season against the Dodgers to win the NL West. In both of these situations, the Padres had already clinched at least the Wild Card, so even if they lost they would have already made it into the Playoffs |
