Too many games and too much life to watch all the games. But I've watched a bunch of them. I'm concerned right now about the playoffs, yet, thank God for the Lakers. It bridges the gap in Chiefs off season.

Got it, thanks. That explains why the NFL draft draws higher rating than the NBA playoffs.

Game 2 tonight.

Lakers clearly have no heart, talent, guile, toughness, or mental aptitude to win a game so look for complete Nugget beat down.

Denver 112
Pansy Lakers 20 (All scored by Kobe on free throws)

Aren't you taking this a little too seriously? It's only the NBA for god's sake. It isn't like it's 1985 anymore.

Thats where the Lakers play.

A shit ton of people move to Southern California from other parts of the country. If you don't believe it go to a Chargers or Padres game and see how many opposing fans there are every game.

Plus there hasn't been an NBA team in the KC area in quite a while so those people that moved to LA could easily follow the Lakers

Thats my guess anyways.

It makes sense. It probably doesn't hurt that the Lakers are the type of franchise to produce more fans.

I didn't like basketball very much. The Pacers were my favorite team.

When they faced the Lakers in the finals I was mad the Pacers lost.

The next year when the Lakers faced the 76ers, all the obnoxious kids on the football team at my school were rooting for the 76ers so I decided to root for the Lakers. Since I was a Freshman in high school this was a big time for me, its pretty much when I really got into sports big time.

Since then I've been a die-hard Lakers fan.

Its going to be a tough series, it may go 7. They are the 2 best teams in the west, it better be a good one.

Now saying that, i have said this before, but Fisher has brought NOTHING this whole post season. Both Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmer are outplaying him and outplaying him by a huge margin. Fisher, is no longer a starter in the NBA. His shot has become very bad the 2nd half of this year. He has absolutely no defense and he's the worst possible person in the world to make a lay up. He missed about 3 easy lay ups today.

BWillie 05-22-2009 01:28 AM

Andrew Bynum.

14.3 ppg and 8 boards in the regular season.

5.6 ppg and 3.9 boards in the playoffs.

Playing 1/3 of the time he did in the regular season. Crazy.

kcxiv 05-22-2009 03:30 AM

One thing i cant figure out is how Phil has so much faith in Fisher and none in Bynum. Bynum has played well in spurts. Fisher hasn not play well at all in the last 4-5 months. He may make a shot here and there, but my god. That love affair needs to end.

When he put Brown, Farmar, Luke, Ariza and Gasol after Kobe got that lame ass foul called against him, i was like wtf?

I dont undrstand why Phil has been playing into the other teams hands. He's done this all post season. Why not force them to play our game? Bring in the bigs and pound the ****ing paint if they go small.

I just dont understand that line up.

CoMoChief 05-22-2009 06:17 AM

Lakers got screwed. A LOT of terrible fouls called and just as many non calls.

Though you can expect that with the horrible reffing in the NBA.

That violation where (cant remember who) jumped through the jump ball circle and NOTHING was called. I dont know how much more obvious that violation can get.

Meh, it's going to be a long series anyways, so get used to seeing that stuff happening for both teams.

This one has the making of going to game 7 to decide it.

I understand that. Its just NBA reffing is just TERRIBLE.

that jump ball violation was a horrid call that probably cost LA the game.

That's nothing new. NBA officiating has been terrible, one way or another. I never seen a well-officiated game for quite some time, now.

I didn't see it, because the game ended at whatever time here, but I did note, earlier in the evening:

So, as usual, fouls and the one-sided officiating is always in the eyes of the beholder. I doubt, the Lakers being at home and the NBA far preferring to have LA over Denver in the Finals, that the refs were somehow intentionally favoring the Nuggers.

Basileus777 05-22-2009 08:04 AM

The officiating in both WCF games has just been bad, not biased.

I agree with you especially with Fishers shot, it's been pretty brutal. It's not just that he's bricking, he's taking ridiculous low percentage shots all the time and bricking.

But he's got the experience and Phil values that over almost anything especially in the playoffs. This series will go 7.

True.

But I wanna tear their hearts right through their throats now. We go up 3-1, you can forget about it. You could see it...in Carmelo, George Karl, they know they're in trouble now. We've got to finish.
