Let's see if we can guess which pizza place is Weiss' favorite!

I'll start! Is it 'The Dish' in Liberty? That's the only pizza place I've been to north of the river! |

And if you're going to argue about the first 3 pass plays in the 3-down sequence, maybe we should place some of the blame on Charles for dropping a first down pass that would have at least given us 5 yards, maybe even a first down. The second drive... Charles didn't get the ball because on the very first play, Cassel got tagged for intentional grounding. 2nd and 20, then 3rd and 25. Are we really going to be upset because we didn't run on 2nd and 20 given our situation? That drive is on Cassel, not on the inability to use Charles. The third drive... Jones ran on first down, Cassel throws a pick on 2nd down. Maybe Charles could have run on one of those 2 downs, but c'mon... these are two plays. Now it's 23-7. No reason to give Charles the ball after this point. To say we lost because we abandoned Charles in the 3rd quarter is completely splitting hairs. It wasn't even close to being a reason why we fell apart. |

I haven't. I am, however, upset that we didn't use him effectively in the 2nd half in a tight game, and I'm disappointed that Haley thinks we're all stupid enough to think he was injured when he was on the field picking up blitzers the majority of his 2nd half snaps. |
If we had not started turning the ball over we wouldn't be having this conversation. Yes the 4th down call didn't work but do you really think running it up the gut against the Ravens on 4th down would be genious. Not !
|
Quote:
Don't agree on the first part. The first drive was effective and killed by a poor ref spot and then a poor playcall. The second and third drive were pretty much killed because Cassel made poor decisions that took the rock away from Charles before the drive ever really had a chance to get legs. You can argue about 1 or 2 plays where he was misused on those 3 drives. But that's about it. It was hardly an issue. There were definitely other glaring issues in those drives. |

we were pumping up 7 hwy and saw an old guy stuck in the road with a flat. me being me stopped. i had brought a good floor jack some sockets and my snap on electric impact just in case anyone at the game had issues, well i stopped to help this old, and i mean about 85, year old guy. he didnt have the tools to lower the spare so i had to improvise. took longer than i thought it would. So we were late getting to the stadium and took so long to find a spot that i actually had to get out and walk to lot c from just about where you guys were, to meet lundberg and let the wife park and come meet me just so we could get in..... we did drive by coming in but had to park a long ways away, the people a few spots down were blasting "beat it" lol. i would have loved to meet some more CPers. met dole, stevie, and iowanian at my seats and waved at flop, but i'm the guy who never leaves my seat during the game and yesterday was no exception. thanks for the offer of bourban though, next time i'll make sure to take you up on it. maybe the bash next year. i have jokingly blamed the wife being pushed down on a CPer. told her they were getting her for all the shit i talk on her here. LMAO |
Jack harry just said he spoke to the owner and Weiss was at the pizza place but refuses to talk football when he comes in. Also said Haley was never mentioned and there were only like 8 people there. The owner said the report isn't accurate at all.
|
Great, the news just ran with Fescoe's story, so now at the water cooler we all will have to deal with stupid ass wannabe fans:
"Say fellas, didja hear? Haley told Weis 'you're fired' at halftime, then Weis was all 'whaaaat!?' and then Haley was all, 'yep!' then the game got out of hand and if you ask me, Haley's in hot water, is what I heard." |

Just so I can follow here...
According to posters and Fescoe, Weis went into a pizza parlor and unloaded dirty laundry about how he hates Haley and that Romeo does too? This is basically the Best Buy story hashed up by a radio station. Weis is a private, arrogant guy that I have a hard time believing would take the time to friend a pizza parlor owner, and then spill the beans about the organization (not to mention this is the anti Patriot way) to strangers. Do I think Haley probably called more plays in the 2nd half? Yes. Do I think he stripped Weis? No. This is also the same moron that proclaimed that Weis didn't go in the locker room after the game. |

Was this the place the owner gave you advanced info? |

Fescoe had some tweets ripping harry and retweets of support. I'm sorry wtf is this legit source that Ye assumes is fact...

The planet is different from real life. Here it is the status quo to share information without merit or fact. I did not however start this rumor. If you actually look at my past posts I have never started a thread, I don't troll, and I respect the community as much as possible. In the effort of full disclosure the pizza place he frequents is called All Star Pizza in Tooleries shopping center. Don't shoot the messenger, I simply watched the game there yesterday with some friends, left after the loss and headed to my place to watch the late game. I have no clue if he came in after the game. I do know he is there all the time, including late last week when he divulged the information I shared, so much so his black American Express is on file (fat ass!!), and when he is there he talks to the owner and some of us patrons about anything and everything including...football. That is about all I got...oh wait one more thing, Weis thinks Brodie Croyle is a pile because as he said in his words, "When he steps to the line of scrimmage, its like his processor just stops..." :thumb: Good stuff. I don't care if you think I am full of ****, but nothing I said was very interesting, and a radio station went forward with a report from other random patrons from what has to be the same location well after I posted here. That is really sad if he went there after the playoff loss...damn I should have stuck around... |
Quote:
I have sincere doubts though that he would throw out info about Romeo's feelings. I don't sense any of those guys would speak for one another in a public setting. |
Quote:

If I had to bet I would bet that Weis did say that stuff about Romeo, and maybe the stuff about giving up the play calling to Haley, just because he's that insecure. And that likely neither is true. Good riddance.

I just tweeted fescoe that espn link

I'm sure he'll run with that hot lead.

I bitched about the play calling from the outset. I thought it was horrible starting at the Raiders game and continued on to yesterday.
Coincidence? Nope. |
ESPN's Adam Schefter disputes a report that Chiefs coach Todd Haley stripped OC Charlie Weis' play-calling duties at halftime of Sunday's playoff loss.
Schefter reports that Weis called the offensive plays in both halves against Baltimore. Regardless, whoever was doing it didn't do a good enough job, getting the ball in Jamaal Charles' hands just three times in the final two quarters. Schefter does confirm that Weis and Haley's relationship has "deteriorated." Weis will be the Florida Gators' play-caller in 2011. Source: ESPN.com |
I rarely post but I had to since a few of you brought up bourbon. Woodfords good but try Bookers, Blantons, Buffalo Trace and Knobb Creek. I'm from Kentucky, i rinse my mouth with Makers in the mornings.

Haley had no problem feeding Charles the ball last year. This year, it's all people have complained about. |

Finally. I am so happy.
I was hoping that, someday, we would start getting the pizza place reports. If there's one source you can count on for timely, factual information, it's a place that makes pizza pies. They say that, if you hold a frozen Totino's to your ear, you can hear the voice of Walter Cronkite. FAX |
I will say this, if Romeo wants out too and bails, then we have a real, real problem that has to be fixed immediately.
I'm a fan of Haley, but I'm a bigger fan of coordinators that can coach. |

Sounds like someone is reporting an opinion, as fact. Common in talk radio it seems.

Ask yourself this, assuming it happened this way, after the 4th and 1 call could you blame Haley if he started calling the plays the rest of the game?
|
I tweeted the link to fescoe and wright and wright tweets a few min later
getnickwright 610 never reported Haley called plays in 2nd half. We reported Weis said Haley did. Weis also once said ND had "decided schematic advantage" 1 minute ago via twidroyd getnickwright And to reiterate, I believe Weis said it, and I believe he was lying. Guy is a snake. Well, except for that whole eating once a week thing 1 minute ago via twidroyd |
610 just throws crap at the wall and see's what sticks

Is there a worse sports news personality than Nick Wright?

Is Nick Athan 610's program director?

If fescoe wants to be taken seriously he would get the inside scoop on the song the Weis wrote that is about dealing with losing a football game. It's called Cheerio Princess. That's all he ever tells about it though is the title. It's a very senstive issue with Charlie but he likes to write songs.
Also Haley is fascinated with the idea of taking the words from Funky Cold Medina and incorporating them into the verbiage of the plays in the playbook. He sits up hours upon hours in the offseason watching old steelers highlights and trying to make the words of the offense fun for everyone. you won't hear those hard hitting insights in your local pizza parlor. |
