But right now, on December 2, 2012, neither would surprise me.

Yup.

It's will honestly be worst than last year if we **** this up. We were close to getting Luck/RG3 or Tannehill and if we don't end up with Geno or even Wilson, I am gonna be sad.

Especially if we take an ILB in the top 10. JFC.

Really is Geno or bust.....

personally I'd rather have Bray, Wilson has an injury history and has taken a shitload of hits already.

Urc Burry 12-03-2012 07:20 AM

I'm actually a fan of Wilson. He's got a shit o-line and shit receivers and stills led plays. He is also as tough as it gets. But he does make some poooor decisions. The tape from the ole miss game is pretty bad

I don't know about Bray. He has the ideal set of tangibles.

But I'm not sure he has the emotional/mental mindset to be a top-flight NFL QB. The more I hear, the more I think Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell.

See that's the thing, from my impression Bray could be like Marino in which it comes all together and starts tearing it up. He has a great bust value, no question but Bray's situation reminds me of Marino a lot that the pros may very well outweigh the cons.

How many Super Bowls did Marino win?

In many ways, Marino is the poster child for the "prick" QB that never could become a real leader of men.

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I don't want Phillip Rivers or Jay Culter. Stats don't win championships, winners do.

Bray is a QB that will boom or bust. If he busts it will be quick so that we can move on and try another QB that we drafted during his developement.

So one of his "selling points" is that he'd be easier to replace?

I don't want to make excuses for the guy, but Marino was one of the most clutch QBs of all-time that never really had a defense or a running game. I'd take him in a heartbeat. If Bray gets into a situation like Favre did with Holmgren, then he'll truly set the world on fire.

Honestly, yes.

If you draft a QB that is OK, you might give him a few more years.

as of right this moment--about 48% 1st pick, 22% 2nd pick, 17% 3rd pick.

IF: we lose and the jags win (see also: shitty jets team), our odds go to:

65% 1st pick, 20% 2nd pick, 9% 3rd pick

IF we lose to the raiders along with the previous conditions:

93% 1st pick, 5% 2nd pick, 2% 3rd pick.

SO... the next two weeks, losing and hoping for just a BIT of help (COME ON, JAGS) and we all-but have the 1st pick sewn up.

philfree 12-06-2012 11:06 PM

If the Chiefs, Raiders, Panthers, Jags and the Eagles all finish 3-13 where do we end up? 5th? I could see that happening to us. We are the Chiefs! The Mighty mighty Chiefs!

Carolina and Oakland can't both finish 3-13.

In any possible scenario involving a bunch of teams tied at 3-13 we will draft no worse than 3rd.

It was just about to edit my post then I figured it would be pointed out pretty fast. No worse then 3rd. We can probably still snag a QB there but probably not Geno Smith.

55% right now.

It bumps to 78% if we can lose next week.

Odds for top-3 pick?

Nearly locked up, right?

the Talking Can 12-09-2012 03:28 PM

our passing offense:

Quinn
McCluster
Baldwin
Newsome
Copper

and maybe brokaki

4 years of pioli

I couldn't even think of Newsome's name. 4 years in, and the best players were still picked by Herm and company.

Pioli!

Right now winning or losing in week 17 makes a 0.55 seed difference for Denver. I'm pretty sure their situation won't be solidified going into week 17.

Yeah, Baltimore's loss today might have sealed that. If the Ravens won today and then beat the Broncos next week... the Mannings would've had an uphill battle for a bye. Now they're right in the mix.

Again: Isn't it really hard to win a road game when it's:

The 2nd straight road game.

On the opposite coast from last week's game?

Seems like there's some history behind teams usually losing in that circumstance.

The spread does not equal actually winning the game.

We don't match up well with Oakland. For whatever reason, their defensive line destroy our offensive line every time, and our playcalling isn't sophisticated enough to recognize strengths, weaknesses, and matchups.

I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere, but if the Jags get the first pick would they go for a quarterback? If not, we could be saved by all the whining that Geno's not worth a #1 pick, because if that's true then no one will trade up for him.
