Colorado's drive to legalize medical Jane several years ago ultimately led to the legalization of many potheads right to purchase this shit legally. I knew that was their angle, I don't agree with it, but I live with it. Colorado is now in the stages of finding a very profitable way of taxing it. Just what you dopers want.

It's a passionate group. And by now, most of those who are against legalization probably aren't even interested in the thread, so you'll likely find yourself feeling a bit alone in here.

That said, I completely understand your opinion and hope that the coming years will prove that much of the fear of legalization is just due to a century's worth of misinformation. Time will tell.

By the way, I found this book to be really insightful regardless of your position on the legalization debate. It does a really nice job of trying to present both sides of the argument in an unbiased way.

Haha like all the EVPs and execs at my work have weed cards. These are multi-million dollar movie execs who are extremely bright and accomplished.

But they enjoy the occasional edible with THC so what losers! Man the dopers are killing their brain cells, ruining their futures and gatewaying themselves to Angel Dust.

Or maybe you just watched Reefer Madness too many times at the Just Say No club, Nancy.

Yep. And even as a proponent of legalization, I worry a little about what legalization will look like. There are a ton of possible side effects that we'll just have to see about.
  • Does legalization result in an influx in people moving to Colorado? And are those people good or bad for the economy?
  • Does legal cannabis cause any changes in use of other drugs? If people use marijuana INSTEAD of alcohol or "hard" drugs, it's a HUGE win for the country and you can bet nationwide legalization won't be far behind. If legal week results in an INCREASE in any of the other drugs, we're in trouble.
  • Will legalization change the market prices of weed? The tax estimates are great for now, but they assume that the prices stay the same. The book I linked to above suggests that 100% legal weed would cost about the same as tobacco, but people use FAR less of it. If it only cost someone $0.25 for an entire evening's worth of intoxication, would use skyrocket?

Those are just a handful of questions in my mind. But it's 100% clear at this point that cannabis is by far the least harmful of the major drugs that are prevalent in this country (including alcohol and tobacco), so it logically doesn't make sense for it to be illegal while people are out there killing themselves and others while drunk.

Chronic Fluff. A product invented by a guy I know. It's cotton candy woven with THC instead of baked. You eat it, you're high almost immediately, 45 minutes later you aren't. No clustering of THC in parts of a baked good that prevent you from self-regulating.

The sugar in the cotton candy is worse for you than the THC.
