Chiefs lose to Jaguars and will beat the shit out of the Cowboys at Arrowhead. That's my gut feeling first two weeks.

Maybe I am wrong but, it sounds to me like you want us to lose. You definitely have another angle here. It's like you are setting them up to not live up to your expectations so you can make a stink about later and knit pick the little things. Do you want Alex to lose because you think Bray would start at some point? If so, you need to get over it. That rooting to lose crap ended in 2012.

ROFL I have many angles, but that is not one of them. Not this season anyway.

I say 24-16 "Chefs".

Alex shouldn't turn the ball over. Jamaal should have 100+ on the ground and a TD Rec on a screen or something.

Gabbert will get lucky on one to Cecil Shorts.

I feel about this game the way I did when we played the Dolphins when they were a hot mess a couple years ago. In that case Matt Moore came in and lit it up early and had us on our heels. If we avoid making Gabbart looking like a Pro Bowler then I think we absolutely crush the Jaguars in every phase of the game.

We score 26. They score 10.

Holy shit, this might be one of the saddest things I've ever read. Basically, if we can keep Gabbert from lighting us up like Matt Moore, we can win. **** you, herm edwards!

This. Reading "Gabbert" and "lighting it up" in the same sentence is absurd.

People seemingly haven't been talking about Asamaoh's injury but just in case you didn't know this could be a big deal for Week 1 Asamoah was announced as having a calf strain after the Chiefs third preseason game. He did not play in the final preseason game against Green Bay last Thursday. He has not practiced this week. Geoff Schwartz would likely pop in if Asamoah couldn't go. The Chiefs are not deep along the interior of the line so this is a concern right now.

All that said ... it's only Wednesday. There is time for Asamoah to recover from whatever injury he had, assuming it's not serious.

Nico Johnson is the other notable injury. He suffered a high ankle sprain following the third game and like Asamoah did not play in the final preseason game. He hasn't practice so far this week. His absence wouldn't be as tough to swallow as Asamoah's but he's the top backup inside linebacker. The Chiefs were also reportedly seeking veteran inside linebackers which could suggest they're concerned about Johnson being available on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Those are the two big ones. We'll see if any others popped up since the last practice on Monday.

That sounds right. I'd be definitely going after Cyprien and Gratz or however their names are spelled. I expect us to throw a lot more than run honestly. Jags have a very young secondary with a pass rush that can't compensate for it. BUT Smith just better be accurate with his passes since Gratz and Cyprien are very opportunistic. And also I hope we have fast enough LBs to handle the screen passes and check downs Jags will inevitably be using. Denard and Ace will be used much in the short passing game. I imagine Flowers on Shorts. After that I'm not sure. But for sure Jags will try and nullify the blitz through MJD. Poe will be getting a lot of work as Jags run up the middle more often than not.

OK with losing to the Jags- :doh!:

I really think the d well shut them down. Gabby hardly played and will be facing multiple blitzes coming from Everywhere. Hali and Houston should have a field day.

Hali has worked harder this offseason then he ever has- I think it will pay off for him.

Lets see Jags- have a Qb with a busted thumb that hardly played in preseason and sucked last year as well.

Missing their stud receiver due to a suspension.

MJD has been hurt.

Suspect O line.

Chiefs have a stout agressive defense and a revamped O.

This adds up to a big win.

if its an either if scenario. Id rather if I were a chiefs fans see the Chiefs destroy the cowboys at home. You can always find a ton of excuses why you lost to the jags. Chiefs history, opening on the road, new coaches, new system, dumb luck. But, to smash the BOYS?

The Jags game is important. It is still a Road win in Florida. I think it sets the tone- it is a team we should beat in the ground. I like our odds against dallas as well- should be a tough game- but 2-0 to start is what I am thinking.

Skyy God 09-04-2013 02:21 PM

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Blaine Gabbert (thumb) could be a game-time decision Sunday. Gabbert was only able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday and admitted he's still feeling discomfort. He remains on track to start over Chad Henne in Week 1. Gabbert will likely play at less than 100 percent against the Chiefs.

I really don't think the majority of us Chiefs fans can comprehend the enormity of replacing Cassel ,Crennel and Pioli with Smith ,Reid and Dorsey. We've suffered so long that the mindset of failure is hard to let go.
