Last episode of the season tonight. :deevee:
|
|
well sheeeeit.
I am disappoint. that was just soooo......anticlimactic. the season was just fabulous....the ending was....well it was crappy. I am totally shocked. lame explanation for the weirdness in Dansons office. it SEEMED like we were supposed to buy that crap? seemed like Lou and Betsy did. I don't. I thought it was VERY interesting that the lights would flicker when Hanzee was around. to the point I was wondering if....well.....there was a UFO and then Hanzee seemingly has some light flickering power....ROFL....not sure WHAT I was thinking...but I was thinking SOMETHING! and then...nothing. we got nothing. nothing. what a gyp |

Eh, almost every episode before the finale wqs better. Over all was a good season. People rarely like season finales in high quality TV, though, because the show already has high expectations

so disappointed. now we wait an eon for season 3...... |

I love parades.

This is great
http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-wat...-from-season-1 We saw hanzee with his new face in S1. Crazy |
Shitty finale. You betcha it's still my favorite TV show.
Season 3 should be pretty good, ya? |
Shit, now I gotta go back and watch S1

but what DID happen.....NOTHING! NOTHING HAPPENED! let's see....hmm....the Solversons had a beer & dinner & a coffee together....oh AND we get the lamest explanation of the office weirdness ever! Hanzee got a new ID and apparently slit those bullys throats. the butcher died and psycho girl goes to jail (I thought she'd drive off in his patrol car while he was on the phone but no....nothing happened) I guess that's about it. it's like episode 9 was actually the finale and episode 10 was a wrap up. a wrap up which could have been done in 10 minutes at the end of episode 9. I love Breaking Bad and Dexter. two of the greatest shows...IMO. I hated how both of these ended and I'd even go as far as saying I think I coulda done better. ROFL Fargo is my favorite show right now. I love it. season two episode 10 was a turd. like Seinfeld....an episode about nothing. |
Quote:
another thing about Hanzee that's interesting is that he wants to get revenge on kansas city. why? Hanzee himself killed Dodd and Dodd's mom. Hanzee himself wanted them all dead. as did kansas city.....so.....what is it he wants revenge for??? hell at the end he and KC seemed to be on the same team! |

The title of the episode is palindrome, which is to indicate that they envisioned the season as a ramping up from mundane ordered life, to inexplicable chaos and violence [mob and medical], back to mundane ordered, if slightly altered, life. EDIT: In the ultimate palindrome, I'd wager that the typewriter Milligan sat down in front of in his new position at the Kansas City office is one of the typewriters the dealer was trying to procure at the outset that set this whole thing off [sending Rye to kill the judge who is holding up the funds]. It also echoed the coda of the pleasures of simple home life that was the ending to the original movie [with Marge congratulating her husband on his duck drawing being chosen for the hunting stamps]. Not thematic, but I also really enjoyed the dream intro and it's echo of Raising Arizona, and how incorporated scenes with the characters we got to know in Season 1.
Raising Arizona Ending ~ (Spoiler) from Jason Teets on Vimeo.
And don't even get me started on Seinfeld finale. Those who hated it, never understood the show, and it blows my mind that so many deride it. The entire show was about the quartet escaping comeuppance for their insularity and narcissism due to the nature of episodic television [ie, they did loathsome things, but never caught hell for it because they shrugged everything off at the end of the 1/2 hour], and the finale was every single despicable thing they ever did coming back to haunt them at once. |

now let me follow that up with something you DO see on CP all the time. shockingly enough...I'm not a dumbass. I'm actually surprisingly intelligent (Adam Ant - Alan Alda aside....). and I will say sir that sometimes your observations blow me away....not in a bad way....just in a....damn how much time did he spend thinking about this shit way!! I'm like damn man....you need a hobby! ROFL 2 - LOVED the Seinfeld finale. I've probably seen every episode LEAST twice and probably more. I'll stop and watch an episode any time. my mentioning of Seinfeld was only in the vein of....a show about nothing. But...that was a finale that was PERFECT. on a side note....some worthless info....and speaking of perfect endings.....got this from a Jerry interview....in the episode where the Seinfeld gang are at the mall...the fish dies...Jerry and George are busted for peeing in public, they cant find the car etc.....Jerry was saying that they didn't know how to END the episode, so at the end when they FINALLY find the car and get in...the car not starting was totally unscripted. and when it happened they were all like.....YES! YES! that's the PERFECT ENDING! |

Anyway, I liked the Fargo finale.. People get hung up on wanting finales to be big climaxes, but it's just as valid for them to be the denouement, especially for a TV novel-type show like Fargo. |

i always wondered why the north dakota judge was eating at a minnesota diner...thought they would tie that to future plot lines

What can they do in Fargo S3? Present day? Didn't they do the late 90s in the first Fargo season?

http://uproxx.com/tv/fargo-carrie-coon/ One of my favorite actresses now tied to two of my favorite shows. |
Hawley is a busy dude! His new FX series sounds awesome too. It follows Professor Xavier's son who's being treated at a mental facility for hearing voices, not realizing that he has mutant abilities because in this alternate timeline no one is aware of any mutant population or their existence. The cast looks great, including Aubrey Plaza.

Giggity. Though from the sound of it, it's more of a college kissing/'I fall in love with a soul' hippy dippy type thing. |
I Might start watching season one tonight

I'd suggest sitting down and getting immersed. It's much more than 'fold the laundry' half-hearted viewing. They put so much effort into plot, dialog and cinematography. It's like a sit down dinner, not a 7-11 roller dog. |

I've got all episodes of both seasons on my dvr that I'm gonna lose pretty soon. |

Easily a top 10, probably top 5 series of all time. Even after 2 seasons. |

Fargo Season Three Premiere Date Announced, Don'tcha Know
Well, 2017 has just been hailed as the perfect year for television. FX has announced the return date for season three of Noah Hawley’s definitive take on Midwest kitschery, Fargo. The previous two seasons have held up to critical acclaim, with each season winning several Emmys and Golden Globes because it’s just that great. Season three returns to FX on April 19. Fargo is an anthology series, loosely related to the excellent 1996 Coen Brothers film, that dissects a “true-crime tale” set on the plains of Midwest America. Season three is set in 2010, following a couple of brothers, Emmit and Ray Stussy, both played by Ewan McGregor, as a kind of Cain and Abel in the Fargo universe. In fact, Fargo rules dictate that while one man prospers, another cannot. Emmit is a success, The Parking Lot King of Minnesota (of course), while Ray is a balding, overweight parole officer living in his brother’s looming shadow and blaming Emmit for his circumstances. In a press release from FX, the conflict of season three is said to stem from their rivalry which “follows a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge.” How very Fargo. Each season has sported an incredibly well-rounded and talented cast, with the first season causing a kind of resurging relevance for Billy Bob Thornton as the truly chilling Lorne Malvo. This season is no different. In addition to Ewan McGregor playing both lead roles, season three will also star Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Ray’s girlfriend Nikki Swango, “a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge,” which is just about as perfect a description as one can come up with. Carrie Coon, of Gone Girl and The Leftovers fame, plays a police officer perplexed by society’s increasingly intimate relationships with their phones as opposed to the world around them. David Thewlis also appears as V.M. Vargas, a mysterious loner who has plans for a shifty deal with Emmit, whether he likes it or not. Jim Gaffigan, Michael Stuhlbarg, Fred Melamed and Shea Whigham also have roles along the way, each of which is major cause for excitement. Fargo returns to FX on Wednesday, April 19. Stay tuned for more information along the way, and check out Paste’s “13 Things You Need to Know About Fargo Season Three” here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is all fine and good, but there better not be any ****ing UFOs in this one. That was the most reeruned thing ever last year.

im trying to figure the point of the sick wife having visions and it including those from season 1, given this is based on real life events. that and the ufo's :D

Really liked the first ep of S3. What did you guys think? Still hoping we get a bad ass villain out of all of this. That guy with the bad teeth didn't do it for me
|
First episode of S3 was great
|
Moar Mary-Elizabeth patoot!!
|
I was moist all day waiting for the premiere, only to have the power go out 15 minutes into the episode.

Did you know Ewan McGregor were both of the brothers? I thought it was just the non-bald one until I looked at IMDB. Had no idea lol

Very good start. The opening German segment was great. Wondering how it fits in. Also loved the dumbass parolees from the IT series.
|
Just watched ep.1.
Ewan is struggling with the accent. He sounds like a Scottish guy that relocated to Nova Scotia. He just can't hit the regional "R"s. I trust that the story line will be up to the Fargo standards, although, this premiere was a bit slower than the previous seasons. Looks like it's worth the watch. |

The best part was that he was 100% Mac the entire episode. It was like watching a merge of Fargo meets It's Always Sunny Dennis had a small role in Fargo season 1 but Mac being....Mac was epic |
Vivan is played by Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher's daughter.
Which is why Frances played the older version of her with Gloria. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...e70dbb42a9.jpg |
That's cool BL didn't know that
