I'll probably say it a couple times in the next few days but I wish Colorado would have got switched to the AL instead of Houston. We could have a nice rivalry with the Rockies and Coors would be kick ass park to see with AL rules.

Hootie 08-18-2014 08:43 PM

hope we can sign ol' Willingham on to be our RF'er next year

which will be good for Billy (if we pick up that option) and Hosmer as well because it puts both of them on notice...gives us a ton of lineup flexibility

Hootie 08-18-2014 08:56 PM

I was thinking about the lineup on my stroll to get dinner, and here is my lineup against righties:

Aoki
Gordon
Willingham
Butler
Perez
Moose
Infante
Escobar
Dyson/Cain

and lefties:

Aoki
Infante
Willingham
Butler
Gordon
Perez
Cain
Escobar
Colon

Joseph Gordon Levitt set to star as Dayton Moore in Moneyball 2, a heartfelt adventure of a Royals team who finds a loophole in how MLB undervalues bullpen and defense and GMDM turns em into a winner

stonedstooge 08-18-2014 08:57 PM

Willy would have had a hell of a night if he would have gotten a hit with the bases loaded earlier

Hootie 08-18-2014 08:58 PM

Willingham is a good 3 guy in this lineup because he gets on base a lot, and hits for power. Salvy is too much of a free swinger for the 3 hole, but I think Ned loves his confidence and it made sense to put him there when Hosmer went down. Willingham isn't quite the cog on the basepaths, either.

Career .825 OPS guy.

I'm telling you, the acquisition was huge. He's arguably the best hitter in our lineup and I'm not even kidding.

Who would play Yost and Joel Goldberg in the film?

Mel Gibson and John Candy be my vote.

Hootie 08-18-2014 08:59 PM

I won't be surprised one bit that, when things are all said and done, the experts don't look back at 2014 and consider the Willingham acquisition the best move made at/near the trade deadline.

Big Poppa Payne 08-18-2014 08:59 PM

Bruiser is undefeated in these things isn't he?

I have one red mark. I was the sacrificial lamb when Guthrie pitched vs. Lester

Hootie 08-18-2014 09:00 PM

and as much as I realize the importance for Moose to gain confidence as he's a big part of our future...I think, at this point, he needs to go back to a platoon with Colon getting a crack at 3B when lefties are on the mound.

C3HIEF3S 08-18-2014 09:00 PM

Who is going to play Dale Sveum in Moneyball 2?
That's a cant miss piece right there.

I would have to agree. I wonder how much influence DM has on this since Moose is a hand chosen guy and we know how much he loves those? I don't give a **** what people say, the GM is in the manager's ear.

Seems Ned is ok with benching Cain a lot because well, that wasn't a hand-picked DM guy.
