Seems easy to support your baseball team when you don't have an NFL team to support.

It's not that we're upset you won the World Series in 2015, it's that you believe your organization is more desirable than the Cardinals.
I mean, considering how toxic half the Cardinals fanbase is, yeah, I like my franchise better.

I went to their opening day yesterday. The stadium was half empty after the 5th inning.

Ugly game last night. I didn't like the matchup of Young vs. that lineup, especially considering how they have been waiting for a piece of our ass all offseason. Went about the way I imagined, except for the offense only scoring two runs on 12 (13?) hits. Not good enough.

I like Chris Young as a pitcher, but I just don't know if I like him as a starter. He's a savvy vet, but in reality he only has two pitches with no velocity. He's the perfect long relief/bullpen guy. I hope Dayton is working at getting him replaced in the starting rotation. Am I wrong to feel that way?

Bowser 04-12-2016 08:12 AM

And oh yeah, **** that greasy looking Colby Rasmus. Looks like he's on teh roids. PISS TEST HIM IMMEDIATELY.

Houston's BATs are red hot right now. Look for the royals to take 2 games. Their weakness is pitching, we are going to have to win this by pitching better.

Dude right now they have like 5 guys over .300 BA, and 1 over .500 BA

Yeah, I saw that. Bunch of guys with at least 3 HR's already, as well. They're a good young team to be sure. I expect them to be in the mix in the postseason.

Honestly, I'll be pleasantly shocked if KC wins 2 games there. That stadium combined with the Astro's lineup is a bad fit for us. This is why the feeling of doom and gloom existed after losing game 1 in KC in the ALDS last year. If memory serves we(at least during current times)have one win at that stadium over the past several years, at least. That one win was a historic comeback.

From 1986 to 2015:

The Cardinals ended a year worse than .500 eight times and only had a streak of two seasons underwater.

The Royals had 20 seasons below .500 and sustained a streak of nine years without meeting or breaking even in that same span.

No google fiber. I'm cable free. I stream all the MLB games for free through a KODI enhanced Firestick and Amazon firetv box.

A friend gave me their login/PW for their cable account and I can now watch the games at work as they don't have access to FSKC.

So, I can log in but would like to cast the stream to a tv at work so everybody can watch. Apparently, FSGO doesn't have chrome cast support.

SO PUMPED. Those just looked too beautiful. It's been a while since the Royals have incorporated a non-blue color in their uniforms. Probably not since those futuristic uniforms they wore against the Mariners in 99 (I think).

For real.

I don't understand all the bashing of Royals fans for not showing up during losing seasons. Look around you. When teams win, fans show up (except in Tampa Bay). When teams lose, fans don't show up. Nobody supports losing teams except for maybe the Cubs fans. The Cardinals haven't been lousy long enough in recent years to even know if their fans will show up or not.

Mama Hip Rockets 04-12-2016 04:38 PM

Also, I don't understand the Cardinals fans bragging about their 11 World Series titles. They've been around for like 500 years.

World Series titles since the Royals franchise began in 1969:

Cardinals - 3
Royals - 2

WOW. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Personal fact regarding my group of friends. When the Royals were losing we went to 20-25 games a year. Now we all go to about 10-15 because it's become far more of an event. We used to head to the K on the random and score seats for peanuts. Now it's to see certain match ups, crown seats, playoffs, etc...

I travel weekly and I must admit here is a personal dichotomy happening when i see all the casuals wearing royals championship gear, but also know that the revenue and huge upswing in the fan following is a positive for our team.

Tl;dr

I can understand where a rival baseball team would roll it's eyes at the Royals gargantuan upswing in local popularity

Mama Hip Rockets 04-12-2016 05:08 PM

World Series titles since 1969:

Yankees - 7
A's - 4
Giants/Red Sox/Reds/Cardinals - 3
Royals/Phillies/Marlins/Blue Jays/Twins/Dodgers/Mets/Orioles/Pirates - 2

Unless you're a Yankees fan, bragging about World Series titles doesn't hold much weight.

Minor has had a checkered injury past _ with some fluke injuries - but when healthy, he does have top of the rotation upside.

Lefties with great changeups can do work.

Will be interesting to see how Zimmer's sides go. If he just kicks off and keeps pitching, it's possible this was just dead arm striking a little later than normal.

Not hopeful, though.

It probably will to an extent. The screen casting is spotty, and laggy. Get about the same quality feed from strikeout.co or something similar. Also, if you lock your screen, the cast stops. I've been a faithful user of the chromecast since its release, but this is one of few complaints I have.

Trade him someplace for a pitcher who actually can pitch.

Good Lord, those are hideous!

I should also mention that the All Star game and HR derby are in San Diego this year and modeled after these jerseys from the early 80s.

Throwbacks indeed.

Trade him someplace for a pitcher who actually can pitch.

He has no trade value at the moment, though. He's more valuable to the Royals on the off chance he gives them something than any pieces he would return.

I'm not sucked in. It's incredibly disappointing, because the guy has a great arm... When it isn't hurting.

Throwbacks indeed.

They started sporting those in the late 70's. Dave Winfield's last year with the Pads was in 1980 (I think that pic was from 1978).

I used to love those unis when I was a kid, but HO-LEE-FOOK are they ugly.

@FlannyMLB: Lorenzo nearly broke a leg chasing a BP fly as he hit the hill. Crashed hard. Someone revive the #Royals trainers
