Word from CP itself.. is that CP is more than Chiefs football. It's a community of forum peoples that enjoy all sorts of conversation. Also clear that it's a great place for many miserable people to vent about... anything... everything.. and they can all jerk off to their own, each other's, and Chiefs' football failures.

Not much of a measuring stick, really then...

If it doesn't meet your high standards and you find yourself disgusted at your complete lack of ability to sell Alex Smith as anything other than the useless venture he is and was, you may feel free to grab your box of Kotex and head on over to Arrowhead Pride.

lol... no. Well some.. but CP is rather delightful, in its own twisted way. :)

If Smith goes 11-5 this year as SI predicts and goes 11-5 next year and lets say we get to the AFC championship game one of those years and maybe 1 playoff win the other year does that warrant Mahomes being the starter in 2019 ?

They were talking today on Sirius, if Smith went to the Jags they would be immediate playoff contenders , Texans too.

I'm not so sure about the Jags, but the Texans are a possibility.

Hog, I would love nothing more than for EVERY team in the NFL, sans KC, to have an Alex Smith clone.

I'm a fan and I do not recall being asked by the Chiefs to attend the Draft and help with the selection process...

I mean, we know all of the INTELLIGENT Chiefs fans knew it was time to move on from Smith, but ultimately it was the Chiefs themselves that had to make that decision.

I sleep very well at night now, knowing for absolute certain, that John Dorsey is NOT a reerun.

Amen.

If you go 11-5 this season with that schedule hell yes he stays on. Assuming his QBR is the same or better, he'll then be the starter in 2018 too.

I know, right! Having a QB who is capable of winning a potential shootout is terrible because that means we'd have to you know...be in a shootout!!! If we had Alex in the infamous "no-punt" playoff game vs. Indy, we would have won that game for sure, for he would have set the punter up so well, it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for the D to blow that one!!! If we had Alex at QB, we would have won that one for sure!!!

Believe it or not, CP is the community that consists of probably the most emotionally invested fans... that's why we get upset. Generally speaking, CP posters choose to confront reality when it comes to our beloved Chiefs, even if it makes us feel uncomfortable or upset. We wouldn't be upset if we didn't care so much.

AP and the Coalition have more of a cheerleader vibe to them...sure they love their Chiefs, but they either choose to put their heads in the sand when it comes to the uncomfortable reality baggage that historically comes with being a Chiefs fan or they are oblivious to it altogether.

Or this last Super Bowl. Maybe the Colts vs us when down by 30 in the playoffs. Most of the time it is a blow out loss/garbage time stat maker. The times when it is not are classics.

Speaking of the Colts and their amazing, once in a century 1st rd QB..

I forget.. how many SBs has Luck carried through? How much more success has he.. really had again?

Oh my!! A game every 3-4 years or so.

Do you love Baby Ruths so much you dig through mountains of feces for them too?

I don't have any problem with a prolific passer. The problem has been this enduring irritating drumbeat that it's the only thing that matters.

What we've needed, and what we appear to have, is a FO, coaching, scouting and training crew that sees team needs before they're crises, and knows what to do about them, from IDing talent, to maneuvering to obtain it, to training it up and getting it on the field.

We're extremely blessed in that regard at present, better than some fans deserve. Some fans deserve PMII being everything the hope, while the rest of the team withers or signs elsewhere, so we can experience the joy of the Colts have every day since that exciting playoff victory over us. Fortunately, Dorsey is smart enough to keep that from happening.

Man...this for sure.

Andrew Luck is a dork...and I wouldn't be surprised if he never led the Colts or any team to the Super Bowl. Talented, yeah...but not a once in a generation find like many seem to believe.

When Andrew Luck was interviewed at the combine, Scott Pioli's comment on him was that he was a guy who he'd love for his daughter to marry.

When asked what his favorite hobby was, he responded, "I like to read." When asked about his favorite book, I think he said Robinson Crusoe... Ok that's fine, good book, but wow, I bet that built SO MUCH rapport with Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton.

Dude is an ultra talent who is way too much of a dork to actually inspire a group of 2010' era athletes to go to the Super Bowl.

That guy will need a supporting cast to do it. That guy is John Elway reincarnated aka the most overrated and overhyped QB ever.

Sandy and I are on the same page with this one. Guy has been overhyped as shit since day 1.

I'd rather have Mahomes than Luck.

rico 05-13-2017 01:24 AM

Not to mention, even if he wasn't a dork...if he did have swag...he'd still be overhyped as shit.

I think John Elway is the most overhyped and overrated QB ever. I think Luck may be a close 2nd if he keeps being a bruised intellectual vagina!!!

Sandy Cheeks is right on about Luck!!!

rico 05-13-2017 07:11 AM

Holy shit, I was drunk last night (watching my youngest brother wrestle at Freestyle state...was a hotel drinking fest)... I stand by it, though. Andrew Luck is a dorky, dweeby nerd who sounds like...John Henry or something when he speaks. I wouldn't be surprised if he never wins a SB or even makes it there...ever. Talented guy, yeah...but I don't hold him in this "once in a generation" prospect limelight that many people do.

I'd rather have Mahomes.

I bet the players are excited too. Like Tyreek Hill and Jeremy Maclin they know they will get the ball thrown to them so they can make plays. I bet the team will be ready for a switch by mid~season and make it harder for the coach to sit Mahomes II any longer.

Alex has been hurt and missed a game(s) in 2/4 seasons here. He's now older.

It's likely he gets hurt again and if he misses a game this season, he's probably looking at deja vu from Kaepernick taking over in SF.

I would suggest you find a new outlet for your football discussion needs.

I'm thinking a place with drooling, Smith-loving Mongos' would be highly ideal for your purposes. A discussion board where the Chiefs were "doing just fine" with Alex at QB, and should have spent their draft capital acquiring more weapons to get Alex "over the hump".

You know, a board full of idiots.

I think had Foles played like he did against the Colts when he started against the Jaguars he would have made it tough for the coaches to go back to Alex Smith. He had an opportunity he just didn't grasp it but I think had he played any better they may have kept Foles and claimed Alex was still recovering from a non~concussion concussion.

It's likely to happen.. few if any QBs go without subpar games or quarters.

Smith will expect it.. and he'll shrug, smirk, and play football until (or if) told not to. He's 33, and an established winner as a starter, and knows how shit-fickle fans can be.
