If Walker keeps this up Dback fans are gonna Taijuan on
|
48 pitch half inning LMAO
|
Jason Bateman waving the towel in the front row over there.
|
This game is over, Kershaw will get at least 7 innings work.
|
Turner!
|
Incoming Kershit meltdown.
|
Well this is over.
Good. I wanted to go to bed. |
It's happening
|
****, leave him in Roberts. I wanna see a Kershit meltdown.
|
Big time moment for Washington, for once. Down 3-1 in the 8th inning, Bryce Harper just destroyed the baseball. Tie game.

Well, that helps... and maybe no bottom of the 9th now.

I have mixed feelings about the whole juiced ball/homerun derby thing.... it's still dramatic and all, but not as much when it seems like every run is scored on the long ball.
A relief pitcher's two out, two run triple.... now that's awesome. |
And any game Lester doesn't win is a good game... douche.
|
Quote:
The funny thing is everyone complains about pace of play, this juiced ball thing is absolutely the worst thing you could do. Taxes the pitching staffs beyond belief and makes the games last forever. |

Puig is entertaining.

Chris Sale and Justin Verlander making bullpen appearances today. Welcome to 2017 playoff baseball!
|
It's definitely like we've crossed over into a different thought process in playoff baseball strategy. It's always been different than the regular season for sure, but now it's basically throw everything you have against the wall and don't hold anything back. Astros are going to get hammered if they blow this game.

The 'Cyborg Bullpen'. The Giants using Bumgarner to 'Bumgarner' teams. |
That infield looks like straight mud.
|
That was a nasty pitch by Sale.
|
'Stros tie it with Bregman HR. And Gattis gets jammed and hits a grounder just over the corner of the 3B bag that the ball girl picks up by mistake. GR2B. Lead run at 2nd
|
'Stros taking care of business late. 5-3 Houston ^9th.
|
WOW!!
|
Wow. Boston inside the park HR. 5-4 Stros bottom 9.
|
Bad decision by Springer there. He should've just let the ball bounce off the wall and field it
|
Boston Gone
|
I wonder if their last ALDS Game 4 was in any of the Houston players' minds. Incredible finish.
|
Scherzer gets his no hitter broken up in the 7th inning against the Cubs. Dusty Baker goes to the pen.
|
And the Cubs tie it up anyway.

Inarguably one of the 3 best pitchers in baseball on the mound, he's given up 1 hit and isn't at 100 pitches yet.
And you pull him to go to the 5th best arm in your bullpen. Don't every change, Dusty. Don't ever change. That guy's just a complete idiot. He's like Matheny if Matheny cussed more. I'm honestly not completely convinced I'd take Baker over Matheny and I would probably take any random idiot from this board over Matheny. What the hell, Baker? |

Damnit Cubs.
|
And base running dumbassery killed the Cubs chances of extending the inning.

What a terrible base running mistake.

Zobrist! That was sweeeeet.

Did Max look like someone who told his manager he couldn't go anymore when he walked off the mound and then spent the remainder of the inning pacing the dugout like a caged animal? I agree - if Scherzer asked out, there's nobody to really criticize. But Max did not look like a man that asked out of that ballgame. He looked to be lobbying to stay in and seemed not at all happy to have to give up the ball. |
Baker has had a history of letting pitchers stay in the game too long and them pitchers getting rocked when he does so. shit happens.
|
Quote:
We don't know because we are not privy to that conversation. He may not looked like a man that asked out, I will agree with you on that. But I also do believe that the manager probably asked his catcher his thoughts as well. If the catcher says that he's losing his effectiveness, on top of that he is coming off the tweaked hamstring, you have to take that into consideration. Either way, all of that is irrelevant since they got out of that inning without any damage. |
Quote:
And how much effectiveness could he have been losing - it was the first hit he'd given up all night. And you yanked him for Solis - Scherzer could throw lefthanded and be almost as good as Solis. You don't yank Scherzer unless he asked out but if you do, you damn sure don't go to the 4th/5th best arm in your 'pen to get you out of it. And now Scherzer is almost certainly done for the series having thrown a whopping 98 pitches. This is a lot like when Dusty was 'saving Zambrano for game 5' in a game they lost in 4. He just isn't worth a damn at managing a game or playing in the moment. |
Yu Darvish just about hit someone in the face. Saved by the bill of his helmet or there would've been a major injury there.
|
Didn't expect they'd get 2 hit by Yu Darvish.... and WTF do you throw Greinke out there in the 6th at 103 pitches? Not even Yost would do something like that. :shake:

Ah well, excellent year and way more than I expected from them this year. But when the Dodgers are on they are very, very good. Not sure anyone has a chance to stop them. |
Quote:
Is there a reason Diamondbacks fans hate Puig? I found something about 2013 and Luis Gonzalez, but that seems pretty weak, especially being 4 years ago.... I assume there's more to it than that? He seems pretty entertaining. |

Strasburg with some apparent vaginal flu that's keeping him from pitching an elimination game today.

I guess some teams still care about the product on the field. |
Looks like Strasburg is suddenly feeling better and is going to go today.

Why? 2012 absolutely plays into it. I never understood how the Nats shut him down for that either. The guy's National career was going to be about the times he DIDN'T answer the bell in the post-season with a sprinkling of his injury history and his massive contract. He had to pitch, man. And Baker needs to keep an eye on him and have a relatively quick hook. But when they have Gio on regular rest for game 5 and Strasburg on regular rest for game 4, he can't sit it out. Scherzer would've probably pitched game 4 if Dusty asked him to because Scherzer is a psychotic competitor. Strasburg, OTOH, doesn't seem to have that gear. |
Quote:
later he claimed it was 'borderline influenza'. |
Strasburg sure doesn't look like he's sick after the way he has performed through 6.
|
Lester threw to 1st.

That's hilarious. And it was a shitty throw too.

Nats are going to regret that if they blow this one.

Lester just picked off a base runner. The world is coming to a end

I was always taught to get back to the bag at an angle away from the pitcher.

The Royals “cyborg” Davis is coming in!

Yikes...

What did I just witness

Wow. That was impressive.

Ouch.
Wader...check please. |
If Davis was in a Royals uniform that wouldn’t happen
|
You could hear a pin drop in there. That probably ended the series.
|
This is stupid. You may need Wade tomorrow. Get him out of there ASAP.
|
Did the Cubs break Davis?
