Idk if its because he wanted to be the hero that came in and saved the Chiefs or what his angle was, but he totally ****ed us against the Pats. I dont care what he does next year as long as he's not on the field.

Anything he wants to do as long as he's not playing.

Why do you even put yourself through the pain of speaking about this ?

And FTR, next year will be painful for you because he will be on this team, there isn't anything we can really do with him except keep him!

threebag 01-27-2019 05:27 PM

Pay him and open up a spot for a player instead of him

BigRedChief 01-27-2019 06:18 PM

Anyone know or can confirm the rumors that..........berry’s contract says if he doesn't have surgery by June 1st and is ready to play, the chiefs can opt out of his contract, no cap hit, the league would basically medically discharge him

BS rumor?

there is no way the NFL can force you to have a surgery. But, after some time the player doesn’t want to have a surgery, would a team have an option to void a contract? Seems like a legal minefield.

This is the year for clean breaks on defense across the board

And Berry is the first band-aid that needs to be ripped off... both sides will be better off that way

We need a new defensive leader

He can't, it like hurts 'n shit. Berry's a twat, he can't bend over. Haglund don't play that.

PAChiefsGuy 01-28-2019 08:11 AM

I think it is time to move on from Berry if the Chiefs can but getting mad at the guy for getting injured and still making a lot of money is stupid. NFL contracts are setup to protect players if they get hurt. Deal with it.

Easy to talk trash on the guy when you haven't walked in his shoes. Sitting at your comfy desk jobs. How many of you have beaten cancer? Then you came back and had a season ending injury to then have this freak bone injury. Think that wasn't tough on him? You really think he doesnt want to be out there playing?

I'm not happy how the contract has gone but I'm not going to get mad at the guy for getting injured then being cautious after everything he has been through.... If you want to go ahead. Post a million times a day about how much you hate a guy who beat cancer and then had some tough injuries because he makes a lot of money. Makes no difference to me.

Thanks for for telling us it "makes no difference to you" after you've spent the whole season whining about how you're sad that people are mean about the Berry situation.

Chris Meck 01-28-2019 08:43 AM

I ain't mad at him. Injuries happen. Football's a business, and he hasn't been able to be counted on for 2 years while drawing an inordinately large chunk of cap room.

Time to cut our losses.

I've not seen anything official about his contract being insured against injury, football or otherwise, and have seen speculation in the media that we'd cut him June 1. so until someone other than a planet poster tells me that's indeed the case and we can't cut him to get cap relief I'm assuming we can. IF that is so, we should. Time to move on.

You like Berry still? You're going to LOVE Landon Collins.

threebag 01-28-2019 09:07 AM

nothing against him personally, just want someone who sees the field and doesn’t have a broken spirit.

FloridaMan88 01-28-2019 09:48 AM

Too bad there is no realistic way for the Chiefs to get Jets safety Jamal Adams.

Adams and Mahomes seemed to be BFF's at the Pro Bowl and safety is kind of a position of need for the Chiefs.

Oh if the picture you're painting was of the whole scene... But alas, we know the contract, and we know who they're meant to screw-over, but his day-to-day "act" (and it was 100% an act) is what has turned his once-adoring fan base into really not giving a shit about anything but how he's willfully ficking the team. He 100% can do that, Clark sounds like the idiot who allowed for it, but we also 100% have the right to call a spade a spade. Even if that spade is a cancer survivor. Let's not forget which team and which fanbase stood by him during those darkest of days for him. You'd think the asshole would remember that when it comes to his day-to-day act, and his "it's complicated" line.

As for walking a mile in other people's shoes, cry me a river; pretty-much anybody can say that. His got punked out of his shoes by Gronk, so maybe his salary isn't commensurate with his shoes.

Yes, dippity-doo; that's PRECISELY what we think because his actions HAVE DICTATED AS MUCH.

And pro tip: doing NOTHING about your condition while waiting for the biggest game of the season to pull rank and convince your coaches that you're 100% ready to play when in fact you are a raggedy, slow-assed, bag o' Haglund liability, IS EXTREMELY SELFISH TO YOUR TEAM MATES.

It's complicated. 1 Arrowhead Way has done its annual "Circle the Wagons" drill (because they know they done ****ed up again), a time-honored tradition, and so too has the Berry camp. Both sides know they're in KC and storms always blow over and nobody will remember. Clark will push for STH to renew using some gimmick to say "this will be our year", they will agree and buy tix. Berry agent has explained to him that he just needs to STFU, do what he's told to do when he's told to do it, fail the physical and make shit-tons of cash for just timing things right.

Remember, Berry had cancer...

I don’t understand all the hate for Berry??

Telling a guy to eff off after all the good things he did for this organization. Dude was a baller here and a warrior especially after coming back from cancer and putting together one of his best seasons of his career. I ****ing respect that sh*t man and then we have people like this that piss on it and act like its nothing. Talk about a lack of appreciation and short term memory as a fan.

Seeing sh*t like this irritates me man and it makes our fan base look really bad. This is embarrassing and other people are probably laughing at some of us..Bob Gretz is right some of you are classless and deranged. This is evidence right here!

*Ok I get it a lot of people are pissed off because he was injury prone and cost the organization a lot of money the last 4 years. But its not like it is our money? What did Eric Berry do to piss people off? Because he made one mistake in a championship game? Well, the best of them **** up as well. Thats not a good reason to hate a guy.

He’s had bad luck throughout his career and that happens and he proved he overcame some of it.
And he still has a chance to do so again with another team. I respect Berry. Always have and always will and wish him nothing but the best with another team.

We all loved him, the team supported him through the tough years, but I'm sorry if you can't see that the ****er turned on Chiefs Nation...

Yes, he became all about the money. And "that's fine, we can't stop him" (see, I said it), but we sure as hell don't have to limit our feelings about him to the years he wasn't ****ing us.

Bricks ran around with his dick out in 2015 talking about how the big bad Blue Jays and how they were gonna kick the Royals ass. He was so sure he wanted to bet, so I tried to bet him money, but he only wanted to do a avatar ban or something gay like that. Then he hid for a really long time, but I went and found him and ****ed his wife. I believe KC connection was a douche about it too.

Yeah well that was fun and games. Im over it now. At least its not as bad as telling a legend to go **** himself after all he did for the team and battling through injuries and cancer.

Oh if he would have been healthy Berry the last 2 years, then yeah I could see it. He was on the path of becoming a first ballot HoFer. He was an all pro in 3 of his 5 healthy seasons and could have been an all pro his rookie year. But he got hurt and you cant rewrite history.

I could see you’re a what have you done for me lately guy huh?

He did A LOT for the team throughout his career its just unfortunate he battled through injuries and cancer.

And when he wasn’t playing its not like he took a vacation away from the team. No he was by the sidelines rooting for his teammates and coaching them up and giving them tips and advice on how to be better like a good teammate does.

But nah its alright. Right? Maybe you should call him a cheerleader instead.

Provided an example for HB of how the Chiefs don’t want him to turn out to be.

Dude how many SB rings does he have? Playoff wins? He quit on them until the end when he thought he could play the hero and play just good enough he could do the same shit next year. Well he got ****ing wrecked by Gronk and things didnt happen how they thought they would.

Most worth it playoff loss in the history of the franchise.

SB rings? And playoff wins? Is it fair to pinpoint it on him as to why the Chiefs didnt win in the playoffs or SB? Gee thats pretty fair.

Yeah because he could’ve won a SB with Matt Cassel and Alex Smith right? But yet put him with Tom Brady and he’ll win 3 or 4 and all of a sudden he is coloured in a different perspective, right?

SB and playoff wins is a bad way of measuring a player when all that is totally a team related concept and not just based on the individuality like you make it seem.

He never gave up on the team. What the **** are you talking about? He was always there being supportive. The better thing to say, is he wasn’t the same player he once was. And thats understandable when a person goes through 3 plagued seasons in 4 years and plays under a shitty coordinator that promoted a losing culture on that side of the ball. Not trying to make excuses for the guy but that is mentally challenging to deal with. People don’t weigh in on such things.

In terms of getting rid of Sutton yes. Had they won that game, Im convinced the Chiefs would probably be stuck with him.

AP has been retweeting a bunch of these. Berry is a good dude - regardless of how crappy this year played out.

dlphg9 03-13-2019 10:20 PM

I dont give a **** about him being a good dude. I care about him playing and contributing, not saying he was healthy and ready to play, but just couldnt find it in his spirit. I dont give a **** how many autographs he signed.

Flying High D 03-13-2019 10:29 PM

Basically it was decided he could more for the organization being anywhere but here.

That's nice to know. Now why dont you shut the **** up already. Injuries happen. He got hurt and couldnt play but still made a lot of money. Get over it. He's gone. Move on.
