Did anyone else notice Blue Meth in Merle's goodie bag?

That was a pretty boring episode. It was a little Falling Skies-ish, where they would pair off two or three characters to do a little special-moment scene together. The end, at least, made me think the next episode could be good.

Didn't watch the episode yet, but I was reading wikipedia plot summaries of the comics (and there's already been huge plot deviations from it already, so take it for what it's worth), but it appears there will be a lot more divergent storylines and craziness if they stick to those plots.

Last night's episode was pretty weak. At first I thought it might have a lot to do with only having an hour to fit all kinds of content into, then I realized a good movie with loads of content and character development is generally only 2 hrs. long...

blaise 10-24-2011 09:31 AM

I fast forwarded like 20 minutes and didn't feel like I missed anything at all.

You guys are not motivating me to watch this today.

There was nothing wrong with the episode. I thought it was good. They are introducing an entire new element.

I agree that last night's episode was pretty lame. I wanna see some zombie killing, dammit!

Watch it. They're building up to some serious shit.

It felt like they were "LOST-afying" it...

If it stays even somewhat true to the graphic novel, it will all make sense. And be freaking awesome.

Buck 10-24-2011 02:44 PM

There was nothing wrong with the episode.

When they have a slow episode on Breaking Bad or Mad Men nobody really complains. It's only the second episode, it takes a while to build shit up.

On another note I want to talk about Shane to those who have read the comics.

Spoiler!

blaise 10-24-2011 03:29 PM

I get that it was necessary to move the plot in a certain direction, but it was boring (to me). I'm not sorry for saying it was boring. I still like the show and I think it's better than most other stuff out there, but it was just kind of a dull episode.
At least when Breaking Bad is boring I feel like there's a tension. For the most part last night I didn't feel any tension.

Chiefnj2 10-24-2011 04:12 PM

All action episode = "they aren't building up the characters, etc.."

Slower episode with more discussion = "not enough action!"

I don't see the "Lostifying" whatsoever.

keg in kc 10-24-2011 04:50 PM

I didn't have a problem with it. Thought it was an effective setup episode. As far as "lostifying", they had flashbacks last year, so that's nothing new.
