I really don't see the chiefs going WR for a big reason. It's a heavy WR market. There are supposed to be a few good WR FA's, along with a very deep WR draft. If you can get a 1st rd talent WR in a later round, then why get one in first? I heard this year may break the record of 7 wr's in the 1st. You wouldn't want say the 5th best WR over the 2nd best CB, S, NT or even TE when they arent as deep, right?

If Donald is the best interior pass rusher in this class, and you have the opportunity to take him, you adjust your subpackages to utilize the talent.

This team, as has been pointed out already, takes more snaps in subs than in base.

And, for the record, Tamba Hali played LDE in a 43 base and registered 9 sacks his rookie year.

I'd be just fine if we drafted Aaron Donald. Dude showed that he has freakish god given talent...maybe not on the level of Poe, but close.

You put Donald, Poe and Bailey on the DL and rotate in Catapano, Powe and Devito and teams would have REAL TROUBLE doubling anyone.

That means Houston and Hali get to pin those ears back and the secondary gets to feast like kings on all the ducks.

if we drafted Donald I wouldn't mind switching to a 4-3 base set. hali as an end. lets be honest, he's far too slow to be a 3-4 olb at this point in his career. so hali LE, poe, Donald. sign jared allen out of FA, while finding/developing a RE. Houston at SAM, DJ in the middle, then just find a WILL. sounds like a pretty nasty front 7 without doing a whole lot of work.

I feel that would maximize the talent we have. bailey could drop his weight back down, he looks like a natural 4-3 LE. catapano would be a natural 4-3, 3 tech behind Donald. DeVito would add nice depth behind poe. hali could play RE opposite side bailey If we couldn't sign jared allen. I do kind of wonder about Houston at SAM though.

Switch to Seattle's defense or copy the Patriots hybrid D. Houston would be fine as a DE, flop him and Hali and we should be golden. The only thing we would lack for that defense is a pair of good OLBs. We would have to bring a couple of guys in via FA and then draft 1 or 2 to develop/push for a starting role.

I was unfamiliar with the patriots d, so I just looked it up. that would be pretty sweet. we could have a tremendous amount of success running that D!

I'm sorry but there is no way we can switch to a 4-3 our personnel would need a total overhaul.

The secondary would remain the same. The only thing we would need to pick up is some SOLBs and WOLBs and there are some of those available in FA, more than there are any 3-4 OLBs. And of course, our FS situation sucks. Everything else would be fine.
