Eh, not surprised KSU had a letdown... looks like the 3 for 17 from 3 killed them.

There should be no more talk of this team making a deep run in the tournament.

Why, exactly?

O.city 02-25-2012 09:32 PM

This MU team just outplayed a top 5 team on the road in as hostile environment as they will see for about 30 minutes. They were 1 play away from getting a win.

I'd say Haith is doing a damn fine job.

Because he's an idiot.

He posted that Haith would be fired in 3 years after a 20 loss season in another thread. No clue who this guy is, but smells like a mult. Or maybe he is just flat out reeruned.

Hell, if anything, I think today showed they are perfectly capable of getting deep into the tournament. A 19 point lead in AFH? How often does that happen? Doubtful that game ends close on a neutral court.

You guys will be fine.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 02-25-2012 09:40 PM

That makes no sense. MU just outplayed KU at AFH. That's something I didn't think they'd be capable of.

Serious meltdown in a game that could have won them a conference. No big deal at this point though. I just hope MU isn't one of those 2's that lose to a 15.

It's Kansas at AFH, man. If they would have gotten rolled 87-59, I might have agreed with you.

Bowser 02-25-2012 09:48 PM

If that three pointer hadn't gone in and out.....

ImAWalkingCorpse 02-25-2012 09:53 PM

Maybe next time Dixon will actually try to win a game.

teedubya 02-25-2012 10:02 PM

I must give you all props... you all played amazing today. To come out an punch KU in the mouth and get up by 19 is something I've never seen at AFH. For us to come back was just epic... but you all have a special team this year. Go be great in March... I think a Final Four is within your reach. But if you win the NC, I'll be pissed. So don't do that.

kthx.

If they play KState I might agree. They should hold their own against almost anyone else. Of their four losses, 2 were to KSU. The loss to KU at AFH was in overtime and went down to the final seconds. Mizzou is for real, but today KU did what they had to win. Congrats to them.

MU got lucky in the first meeting, as I was watching this game especially the last 2 minutes I knew MU was going to lose, guys like Dixon and English had that look on their face. I seriously think MU is not as good as their record would indicate, they are barely hanging onto a 2 seed and will end up a 3 after the Big 12 Tournament.

The loss was frustrating for sure but...I came away very encouraged for what we all came here to be successful in. The tournament.

They should've beaten kansas in AFH and showed they have what it takes. I have to think mizzou can hang with just about any team out there. This team can be dangerous in the tourney and im excited about that.

So ku was the better team in the first game? B.S. That game was back-and-forth the entire time. We just were fortunate to get the last run in.

Yes, they were the better team in the first game and controlled it beyond a few ref-supported MU runs. I thought that was fairly obvious at the time. That's why I was so surprised at the effort MU was able to muster yesterday.

I don't give a **** what Bill Self says or thinks about anything. Missouri controlled much of the game yesterday, and thus demonstrated that they were the better team, ref-induced outcomes for KU notwithstanding.

That's how this works, right?

Depends.

Only one team gave up a 19 point lead.

So it can be spun either way....

Sure-Oz 02-26-2012 07:50 PM

That type of lead could only be lost at Kansas, hope the guys learned that they had to keep playing hard. I think regardless win or loss they know they gave it up and hopefully stay focused fully in the big 12 tourney and meet again

Both teams choked away a big lead. Not sure if it's worse to give back 19 or to give back 8 in the final 2+ minutes; both are pathetic.

They outscored KU by 19 in the first half and were outscored by KU by 19 in the second half. They were also outscored by KU in overtime. To say that they controlled much of the game is an overstatement.

The rule established after the first game is that you're "in control" as long as you have the lead.

Yup. We should have had that one, I'm proud of my team. You can say what you want about the horrible officiating, but they didn't make us go 7 minutes in the 2nd half without a FG. All it took was a couple of baskets in that stretch and we win. Helluva an effort. I'm looking forward to the B12 and NCAA tourneys.
