Yep, we have a huge basketball recruiting weekend. An overall top 10 recruit for this year's class, a top 15 recruit in next year's class, and a sophomore blue chip that just happens to be the son of a Tiger legend.

With Gameday in town for this one, Saturday is going to be an awesome day.

So who would you rather have?

If the Tigers finish the season strong, and are able to re-load and stay at a high level, then I will have to admit that I am happy to have Haith. Never in wildest dreams did I think Mizzou would be doing as well as it is, and I hope it continues.

Billay is right - the Tigers need to improve their recruiting going forward if they want to remain competitive in the SEC.

Then again, they needed to improve their recruiting on the O and D lines if they wanted to win a conference championship in the IIX and that never really happened....

I think they know they need to improve in the trenches, I'm just not sure they know how. Honestly, their skill position players and linebackers are good enough to compete in the SEC, Pinkel and co have done well in that regard. But in the trenches and in the secondary, they really need to step their game up.

Fortunately, I think they'll be able to pull it off. I'll be interested to see if they start going after more of the corn-fed north/midwestern kids that may want to play in the SEC, guys like Meador. Or maybe they'll just try to do a better job on the 4 star kids in SEC country.

Or maybe they'll just say "!@#$ your ratings" and go after folks they think they can mold. I think that's a nice way to build a top 20 program, but ultimately I think Rivals knows what they're doing - if you want to run with the big dogs, you need more than 1 or 2 of those 4 and 5 star recruits every year.

Haith definitely deserves a lap dance for his efforts this season.

I agree with what you say....but Billray was merely saying "Mizzou can't win in the SEC". Mizzou is going to have to be better...better at recruiting, better at coaching, and better at performing on the field to get where they, and us fans, want them to go. I believe we can...Billray is no better than Wickedson and the like...he just likes to sling shit around and ruin everybody else's day. Unfortunately for him, he lacks the ability to form coherent thoughts or complete sentences to accomplish his tasks.

On the recruiting note...since we do have basketball recruits coming in this weekend...here is hoping they like what they see at Mizzou, and hopefully a rocking victory over ku will convince those recruits to stick around and wear black and gold. :thumb:

Congrats on getting him but if you think you'll compete for SEC titles based on the last few recruiting classes ya'll have put together you're wrong.

Tom Osborne will never win a National Championship. Remember that one?

You're probably too young, but I sure as hell do.

Beginning of the season.....would have said Painter, no doubt.

Right now, I would have to say Haith, but it would not be a slam dunk. I want to see how the team finishes the season, but I think Haith has shown he can coach and deserves to be here.

Haven't heard much from Purdue...wonder if Painter is having buyer's remorse for not taking the MU job?

I hate star gazing as well because you get guys like Bradford who's only a 3 star and you're meh about it but you're right at the end of the day Rivals knows there shit. I can't think of one national champion that hasn't been ranked in the top 10 in recruiting the last few years.

That was before my time but yes I've read about it. I think that had more to do with him following a coaching legend. I just think Mizzou would have a much easier time in the B1G 10 where it's easier to get those cornfed guys Eazyb as talking about. Of course I could be wrong certainly won't be the first or last time.

Sounds like something Wicked would say. Dumb, dumb comment.

KK is a ****ing idiot who is butt hurt that his team his losing this year. As an MU fan I'd take 2 losses to KU during the season and one more in the Big 12 Tourney in trade for a final four appearance.

O.city 02-02-2012 06:58 PM

KU is losing this year?

They have lost 4 times and are leading the conference.
